Blue skies! It was a beautiful sunny day today however because of the wind blowing, it blew a part of a tree down on the road that promptly caught fire as it rested on the electric line, which in turn took out the power around 9:30 AM! Fortunately, once the branch burned through, it extinguished itself. It could have been so bad as we are extremely dry. It took PSE until almost three o’clock to get things back up and running. So, we decided to go hike!
We opted to go do part of the Gold Mine Trail. Jan came with as well as 
Upwards we hiked!
Along the way, the sun was at just the right angle for this…..
Quite pretty!
When we reached the old safe, we were surprised to see that the dirt from the very steep hillside was beginning to fill in the old safe.
After he got done, we headed back. It’s always nice to hike a trail you don’t do all the time simply for a change of scenery as well as new photo opportunities! 😁
Here, a small creek we had to cross. Looks refreshing!
