¿Quién no se ha visto Shingeki no Kyojin? ¡¿Tú?! ¡¿Qué c#$%% esperas?!
Ok, ok... Disculpen... Empecemos de nuevo...
Un placer saludarlos a todos nuevamente. Traten de pasar por alto mi sobresalto. Pero les confieso que soy fan de este anime que tanto ha dado de qué hablar. En serio, estoy tan encantado de como va la historia y tan ansioso de saber que va a pasar que me he empezado a leer el manga desde el comienzo solo para esperar.
Tanto así que incluso el acosador de Youtube se la pasa recomendándome cualquier video que esté relacionado con un titán. Y dentro de la marea de cosas que vi, me encontré con un video que recopila todos los openings hasta ahora. Y pues, ya que me encanta el anime y soy fanático de los openings de animes, hoy he decidido hablar de su evolución a través de todas las temporadas.

Nice to greet you all again. Try to overlook my startle. But I confess that I am a fan of this anime that has given so much to talk about. Seriously, I'm so thrilled with how the story is going and so eager to know what's going to happen that I've started reading the manga from the beginning just to wait.
So much so that even the YouTube stalker algorithm keeps recommending me any video that's titan-related. And within the tide of things I watched, I came across a video that compiles all the openings so far. And well, since I love anime and I'm a fan of anime openings, today I decided to talk about their evolution through all the seasons.

OP. 1 Feuerroter Pfeil und Bogen | Linked Horizon
Les confieso algo, los primeros episodios de un anime siempre me resultan un poco aburridos. Tal vez sea el hecho de que, por lo general, intentan introducirnos al universo en el que se desarrolla la historia y debido a esto no se arriesgan a romper con el equilibrio antes de que entendamos como va todo el asunto. Otros se animan a generar cierto acontecimiento con el que despertar nuestro interés, pero no siempre funciona.
Pero este anime es otra cosa. Su primer episodio fue una irrupción violenta y cruel de una amenaza exenta de cualquier pizca de consideración y arrepentimiento. Rápidamente te dejan saber que la humanidad está encerrada entre unos muros que, a la vez cárcel y guarida, la ha sumido en un largo letargo. Indiferente a la idea de una vida fuera de los muros y acostumbrada a una falsa paz es incapaz de responder antes la inminente invasión de los titanes.
El mayor peligro se hace presente sin preludios, tan repentino como el relámpago que hace manifestar al titán que les recordará lo vulnerables que son y la vergüenza de haberse conformado a vivir como animales en sus jaulas.
La muerte y destrucción de sus hogares motiva jóvenes de todas partes a entrenarse para vencerlos o simplemente resistirlos.
I must confess something, the first episodes of an anime are always a bit boring to me. Maybe it's the fact that, in general, they try to introduce us to the universe in which the story takes place and because of this they don't risk breaking the balance before we understand how the whole thing goes. Others are encouraged to generate a certain event with which to awaken our interest, but it doesn't always work.
But this anime is something else. Its first episode was a violent and cruel irruption of a threat devoid of any shred of consideration and regret. They quickly let you know that humanity is locked within walls that, at once prison and lair, have plunged it into a long lethargy. Indifferent to the idea of a life outside the walls and accustomed to a false peace, it is unable to respond to the imminent invasion of the titans.
The greatest danger comes without prelude, as sudden as the lightning that makes the titan manifest that will remind them how vulnerable they are and the shame of having been content to live like animals in their cages.
The death and destruction of their homes motivate young people everywhere to train to defeat or simply resist them.
En este primer opening se sintetiza el valor, el sacrificio y la epicidad de un anime que presenta la lucha entre enemigos más dispares que David y Goliat. De una raza que ha logrado resistir a partir de un ingenioso sistema de maniobras tridimencionales y la más inesperadas de las armas, considerando el enemigo a enfrentar, un par de espadas. Y los titanes, una raza de gigantes sin ninguna otra motivación conocida que comerse a los seres humanos. Un desequelibrio que se hace patente en las decenas de bajas en soldados por cada titán vencido.
La expresión de rabia, miedo y determinación presente en los personajes se resume en uno de los versos de esta canción:
Lo que alterará el ahora es la voluntad de pelear
Y esta a su vez, en la escena en que Eren se lanza en contra del titán Colosal.
El constante retumbar de las voces en el coro, son como los gritos de un ejercito que está dirigiendose a la batalla. Motivandose, inspirandose y llenandose de valor.
This first opening synthesizes the courage, sacrifice, and epicness of an anime that presents the struggle between enemies more disparate than David and Goliath. Of a race that has managed to resist from an ingenious system of three-dimensional maneuvers and the most unexpected of weapons, considering the enemy to face, a pair of swords. And the titans, a race of giants with no known motivation other than to eat humans. An imbalance is evident in the dozens of casualties in soldiers for each defeated titan.
The expression of rage, fear, and determination present in the characters is summed up in one of the verses of this song:
What will alter the now is the will to fight.
And this in turn, in the scene where Eren launches himself against the Colossal titan.
The constant rumbling of the voices in the chorus is like the cries of an army heading for battle. Motivating, inspiring, and filling with courage.

Los hechos lo demuestran, los titanes se encuentran entre los humanos y están determinados a destruir a la humanidad. Pero ¿Por qué? ¿Qué ganan con eso? ¿Hay más humanos del otro lado de la muralla? ¿Las murallas están hechas de titanes?
Cada nueva respuesta da lugar a muchas más incógnitas e incrementa la noción de todo lo que se desconoce. ¿Algún día conocerán la verdad? ¿Podrán ser libres realmente?

This is probably the opening that moved me the most. All the pain and despair caused by the titans' advance only increases.

What is motivating the enemy? Is humanity facing its natural extermination in the face of a superior predator? Are they simply moving down the food chain or is there more to it?
OP. 4 Red Swan | HYDE
La tercera temporada puede ser consideraba la temporada de las revelaciones.
El cuerpo de exploración descubre que además de los enemigos externos, dentro de las murallas existen quienes conspiran para mantener el status quo de las cosas. Un régimen de las principales clases de las murallas; clero, comerciantes, nobleza y ejército, usan de pantalla a un falso rey para legitimar todas sus decisiones ante la población.
Por medio de la persecución y las ejecuciones extrajudiciales se han encargado a través de los años de silenciar cualquier señal de insurrección o disidencia. Por lo que el nuevo objetivo es hacerle frente a este problema o de otro modo serán incapaces de seguir adelante.
The third season can be considered the season of revelations.
The scouting corps discovers that in addition to external enemies, within the walls there are those who conspire to maintain the status quo of things. A regime of the main classes of the walls; clergy, merchants, nobility, and army, use a false king as a screen to legitimize all their decisions to the population.

Este nuevo opening presenta un carácter completamente distinto a los anteriores. Los elementos más agresivos fueron sustituidos por una balada más nostálgica. A nivel visual, las escenas se hacen más luminosas y difusas para representar recuerdos y sueños.
Toda la carnicería y lucha contra titanes ha quedado atrás en este opening. Pero a pesar de su apariencia inofensiva, lo que tenemos de forma menos obvia son las miradas inquisitivas de Erwin, Levi y Eren sobre su pasado. Pues es allí en donde se encuentran las respuestas a las preguntas y demonios del presente.
¿Cuál es la mentira?
¿Cuál es la verdad?
¿En qué creer?
Toda la trama se trata de las luchas internas; el gobierno central, los dilemas morales, los intereses entre facciones, la diferencia de objetivos y las distintas visiones del mundo.
This new opening presents a completely different mood from the previous ones. The more aggressive elements were replaced by a more nostalgic ballad. On a visual level, the scenes are made more luminous and diffuse to represent memories and dreams.
All the carnage and fighting against titans is left behind in this opening. But despite its harmless appearance, what we have in a less obvious way are Erwin, Levi and Eren's inquisitive looks into their past. Because there is where the answers to the questions and demons of the present are to be found.

What to believe?
The whole plot is about internal struggles; the central government, moral dilemmas, factional interests, differences of goals, and different worldviews.

With hearts aflame with pride and motivation, the Scout Corps heads out on the most difficult of all its missions. The frontal war against the titans and the truth outside the walls. The losses are the highest ever paid, but the victory is even greater.
However, as usual in this world, they come to realize that this is but one battle in a war that has been raging for centuries. The world is much larger, just as their enemies are more numerous.
Ese día la humanidad recordó
Estas palabras fueron usadas en el principio del anime. Y ahora que vuelven al lugar en donde la lucha de Eren y sus amigos comenzó, el deseo de ver lo que hay detrás de las murallas ya no era suyo solamente.
Así volvemos al estilo de los anteriores openings con la participación de Linked Horizon. La lucha, el valor, la guerra... Las fuerzas han mermado, pero con todas las almas apuntando hacia un mismo objetivo, la humanidad tiene una oportunidad.
La constante sensación de avance de la música refleja la incansable lucha y sacrificios de estos héroes. Que siguen adelante sin importar con que piedra de tropiezo se encuentren en el camino.
El final solo llega con las imágenes detrás de la muralla. Que es a donde apuntan todas sus fuerzas, la libertad.
That day mankind remembered.
These words were used at the beginning of the anime. And now that they return to the place where Eren and his friends' struggle began, the desire to see what lies behind the walls was no longer theirs alone.
Thus we return to the style of the previous openings with the participation of Linked Horizon. The struggle, the courage, the war... The forces have dwindled, but with all souls pointing towards the same goal, humanity has a chance.
The music's constant sense of forward motion reflects the tireless struggle and sacrifices of these heroes. That they keep moving forward no matter what stumbling stone they encounter along the way.

Finalmente, todo está revelado. La humanidad dentro de las murallas descubre que no es más que una minoría marginada y condenada por el mundo al olvido y al exterminio. Los titanes ya no son el enemigo, sino el arma empuñada por ellos.
Sin embargo, la verdad sigue sin ser clara y se hace cada vez más difusa. ¿Quién inició esta guerra? ¿Merecen los eldianos ser tratados de esta forma? ¿Quiénes son los buenos y los malos?

However, the truth remains unclear and becomes more and more diffuse. Who started this war? Do the eldians deserve to be treated this way? Who are the good guys and the bad guys?
But none of that seems to matter. War has been declared. The former heroes have learned to shoot rather than ask questions and have taken their inevitable place as aggressors to survive.
This final season shows us the transformation of the young men who only longed for peace and see how far they will be able to go to obtain it.
