Hello everyone! 💛
What I love about smoothies is that I can hide in there some of the healthiest ingredients like hemp seeds, bee pollen, spirulina powder, and that's without my kid even noticing.
In order for a smoothie to still taste delicious, incorporate only one by one, little by little, those foods that you consider healthy and that you would like to incorporate into their diet, but which they usually refuse.
For example, if your children doesn't like spinach and they're saying "NO" just by looking at it, then smoothies are perfect to hide it. Together with bananas, apples, peaches or pineapples, the taste of spinach cannot be detected! It's great, isn't it??
I love to have a smoothie for this particulary reason: I can make it super healthy by adding a lot of healthy foods and healthy powders like spirulina, chlorella, ashwaganda, coenzim Q10, green wheat powder, moringa, hemp protein or hemp seeds, matcha or maca powder, lucuma, cacao or carob, etc etc etc.
Not to mention the leafy greens which I'm telling you, I'm not really a fan of.
But in smoothies you can add your leafy greens and have your dose of vitamins, fibers and other important compounds for our health.
So today I'm sharing with you Four Smoothie Recipes I made for Caleb. He enjoys his smoothies, especially the real delicious ones.
All these smoothies were a success, which is why I'm sharing these with you!!
Blueberries and Persimmon fruit (kaki) Smoothie
I know kaki fruit is not the most popular out there and me personally, I dont like it much. My husband and Caleb on the other hand, they love it! And believe it or not, we managed to grow one persimmon fruit tree.
We had so many this year, I really can't believe it. The difference between ours and the ones found at supermarkets is that ours are much smaller and they would spoi faster.
Ingredients:
- blueberries (mix)
- persimmon (kaki fruit)
- oat milk
- bee pollen
- banana
- hemp seed hearts
Raspberries, banana and green parsley
For this recipe here I had raspberries, fresh green parsley, banana, lemon and spinach. One cup was for Caleb and the other one for me. Thsi was really good. I love the taste of parsley, I think it's so refreshing!
Swiss Chard & Beets Smoothie
It sounds like a strange combination, but it's not because banana and pinapple makes it delicious and sweet enough in order to be accepted by kids.
Caleb helped in with this one. He usually does it if he's around. He wants to push the start button, go from 1-10 power and then slowly decreasing the power and turn off. It's his thing lately. But it's a good thing kids helping in the kitchen, especially when there's about their own food. It's helping them become more aware of the foods, their health and nutrition in general.
This smoothie it doesnt look good. At all. But Caleb drink the whole of it, as he usually does!:D
Carob and Banana Smoothie
This is one of his favorites. The ones with cacao powder or carob powder. I edited the photo in my phone and wrote the ingredients so I won't forget what I put in the smoothie.
I try do have a little bit diversity so I would swap the oat milk with almond milk, coconut milk or rice milk, the case in this smoothie.
Together with carob powder, banana and hemp seeds, this smoothie is very nourishing and the best thing is that it tastes like chocolate!
So here they aaaaare!
