One seriously hot Summer day, Brachiosaurus - aka Brag-iosaurus, as she loved to tell how good she was at everything - and Hypersensitivosaurus, decided to go to the lake together.
When they had finally arrived, after a long and tiring walk,
and were about to jump into the cold water to freshen up,
Bragiosaurus noticed that Hypersensitivosaurus seemed hesitant to even dip his feet into the lake...
What's wrong? she asked
I just realized, he said, that I forgot to bring my swimming pants along
Oh if that's all, don't worry. I brought an extra pair.
INSERT LAUGHTER
Now what doesn't make sense in the above story?
A) Brachiosauruses don't swim
B) Brachiosauruses and Hypersensitivosauruses raptors don't swim.
C) ( Both ) dinos don't wear swimming pants.
D) Brachiosaurus need two pair of swimming pants, as they have four legs.
E) All of the above, plus another thing...
For those of you who don't get the joke or miss the context or are new to my blog:
Hypersensitivosaurus is a (veloci)raptor, about the same size as a big turkey. Brachiosauruses were some of the biggest - and tallest - dinos that ever roamed our planets. Imagine huge giraffes. They used to be called long necks too.
This joke was based on a similar joke, starring an elephant and a mouse. I added some story and changed the creatures to dinos.
As you can see in the above sketchie, swimming pants look kind of strange on dinos. I messed the drawing up a little, merely tried different kinds of dino sizes and didn't finish the thing but decided to share it with you anyway, as I sometimes need to challenge the perfectionist inside of me.
Today was kind of a random day. I woke up like a snottosaurus, remember this guy? once again and almost thought of just spending a lazy day, home alone. My twin sister invited me for lunch at the place of friends. First I said "no", than a little voice in my mind kept telling me that I actually should go/ felt like going. I ignored it for a while and then told my sister that I would like to go, after all.
We spent most of the afternoon there. We hadn't been at our friends' place in half a year so. They have two hectares of land with loads of buildings and only moved to that place a little over half a year ago. Lots has changed since then and we had loads to catch up on. Also, the lady of the house used to be a chef. Many reasons to visit and I don't regret this decision a bit.
I'm back home now, sitting near the fireplace and this snottosaurus is happy that he listened to that little voice, this morning.
I am getting better and better at listening to the little man inside of me.
Sometimes distraction ( and good food and good company ) is the best kind of medicine!
I also like to think that my ( hopefully from now on ) daily dose of dino stories, and humor, can be some kind of natural medicine for you too.
Much love from a still slightly snotty snottosaurus 💚
