The basement floor must have been where they did most of their mining operations on. There was a main shaft that could have fit two mining carts or a giant mining excavator. There was even a railway track that headed for off into the west. There was however no cart to be seen.
This area had some lighting every so many mining support beams. While there were still parts in darkness as some of the lights have broken or were too far away from one another. This helped get a lot better clarity in what you were looking at than your normal wristwatch light would have given.
You looked down the cave tunnel heading in the east direction. It headed off into a small lake that had a tunnel leading off into a different cave network. It was an alternative way to get into this mountain and nothing else of interest was over there. So you skipped exploring to the east.
So instead you headed off west down the main tunnel in search of anything interesting. On occasion, it looked like whoever was mining out of this area would stop and take a drilling sample. There were quite a few holes drilled into the cave walls themselves.
You also noticed there would be makeshift tunnels that only went a couple of feet north or south in the tunnel. They then would stop and have some further holes drilled into them before being abandoned.
In one such small tunnel heading north, you noticed there was a giant pit that looked like it was carved out of the area. Then a lot of what looked like to be mining trash was dumped in there. There was also a sign leading into that tunnel but you did not understand what it said.
A few feet away there was a much smaller mining tunnel. This time there was a door on it that had the same strange but different writing on it. You opened it up to reveal what looked like a bathroom that was set up in the cave itself.
Thankfully it did not smell as bad as you were expecting it to. You quickly closed the door and moved on to exploring further west down the main tunnel.
You walked along for a bit further not seeing much of anything. Many of the tunnels you came across seemed to have collapsed onto themselves. Shutting down any possible chance at exploration for whatever they were.
After some further walking you come across another side tunnel this time there was enough room to get past some fallen rocks and check it out. You could continue going down the main west tunnel or check out this side north tunnel.
