You instruct the ship to move closer toward the damaged ship in an attempt to dock with it. While it has suffered some damage it appears to still have mostly pressurized sections. Perhaps you won’t even have to put on your space suit and expend what oxygen you have remaining in your tanks.
The ship slowly moves towards the location you selected to make an entry point. This was not without a lot of concern on your part. The ship started to shake quite violently for no reason. Perhaps further systems are starting to take damage the more the ships move. You however could only guess at this point.
The other concern you have is whether will you even be able to dock with the other ship in question. It is without a doubt going to be alien. You do not know of any ships that would have been out in this part of space that has gotten lost.
Perhaps as your mind twists it was a bit of a fool’s errand to think you could even conduct some kind of salvage operation. What are the chances you find anything at all that would be useful let alone compatible with your ship? At this point, there is no real going back.
After some time and the ship warns you on several occasions that you have lost even further oxygen. You hear a clamping sound as a small bridge connects to the other ship. After waiting for a safety test to confirm there is a good solid connection between the two ships. You decided it was time to walk down to that part of the ship and cross over to the next ship.
After a little bit of walking you arrive at the door that is separating you and the bridge that connects to the other ship. You look out the viewport on the door and notice the other ship's door has already retracted. That will make it easier to gain access to the ship.
You take one last moment to decide if this is the action you wish to perform. You could always head back up to your ship's main deck and take a look around. Perhaps there is some information you would be better off knowing before heading in.
After some careful thinking, you decided to go for it. From what scans you could perform it appears the section of the ship you will be walking around in is intact and you will not need to put on your EVA (Extra Vehicular Activities) suit.
You unseal the hatch door. The power on your ship gave out midway through doing so. It did not immediately flicker back on either. Hopefully, you did not just deplete the last remaining supply of energy you had.
You press as hard as you can on the part of the door that opened. You can move it slightly enough that you could fit through it. Only just however you had to suck in your gut to squeeze through the gap.
Once on the other side of the door, you walk across the small bridge connecting the two ships. As you do quite a horrific smell slaps you across the face. It’s as if someone boiled feet, lamb, and cow dung in a giant vat and forgot about it for a few years. You almost want to pass out from the smell.
As your first foot lands on the ship, the lights start to turn on. You then feel air rush past your face and in almost an instant that horrible smell is gone. It’s almost like the ship is alive and the further you walk forward the more lights and other systems seem to react to your presents.
You have no idea where anything of use could be on the ship so you just start exploring. While you do find an elevator it was not working. There is however a ladder you could take to different floors.
This place could have quite a few floors and be like a maze for all you know. You look down at your feet and notice a small sharp piece of metal. Next to the open elevator, you scratch the number 1 on it. You think if you ever get lost you just need to get back to floor one and head back from the evaluator to get off the ship.
You now find yourself with some choices to make. You could either go up using the ladder to the next floor. You could take the ladder down and explore the deck below you. You could also keep exploring floor 1 of the ship you are on.
