You go up on the ladder to floor 2. The lights on this floor flicker off and on again. Once in a while, you get an odd smell that then suddenly vanishes. This floor has corridors going in either direction of the ladder with rooms on both sides.
You take out the sharp metal object in your pocket again and scratch the number 2 next to the ladder. You also notice the ladder goes up one further floor. You could take the ladder up to the next floor or explore the remaining of this floor.
You decide to head left first. As you take a few steps forward the remaining lights in the corridor flicker on. It becomes quite disorientating as the last remaining light in the row remains on as the other entire lights flicker out of order.
As you reach the first room of many the door stops opening halfway. Despite your trying to open it further you have zero luck. The gap is also too small for you to try and force your way inside the room.
You can tell from the outside that it appears to just be yet another office. This office appears to only have a metal desk and two chairs. You cannot see anything else in the room. It is as cold in feeling as the rest of them and you decide to move on.
After a few more steps you come across a washroom. It has no toilet. It simply has a metal sink with three buttons along it. As you press one of the buttons ice cold water pours out and freezes in the metal bowl of the sink. You quickly press the same button again to stop it from overflowing with liquid ice.
You decided to press another button and the ice in the sink melts. It also feels like you could melt at any second as the force of a 1k sun beams down on you with heat. You quickly smash the same button again to turn off the heat. At this point, even your very soul has been dried off and you make a mental note to never press the orange button again.
There appears to be nothing else of interest in the washroom. As such you head back out into the corridor to see what else you can find. The next couple of doors lead into empty rooms so small you could barely fit into them.
You then took another left and this time there was only one door in the entire corridor right in the middle. This led to quite a massive room that was void of anything. There was not a chair, desk, or even any dirt on the floor. It was as if the empty room had just been cleaned.
As you turn around and head out to leave the thought of being back home in the dome came to mind. Suddenly the floor, walls, and ceiling melted away. You found yourself out on the street during a sunny day back at the dome. Since you work so many hours nowadays this moment must have been from your childhood. As you have not seen the real sun while in the dome in quite some time.
You start to walk around the dome city and realize there are no people. There are no noises. There is however a faint smell of something you can’t quite put your finger on. It was not quite the usual smell of home it was somehow corrupted by metal and stale.
As you turn to walk to where the park used to be in the dome your face smashes right into the metal wall of the ship you are still on. The dome fades away and you find yourself looking at the walls of the ship. Despite how hard you tried you could not get the virtual reality of the dome to reappear in the room.
After some time you give up and head back out of the room. You finish walking down the corridor and find nothing else to interact with. You take another left that takes you down a corridor with no working lights or doors. After checking a couple of the doors make sure you make one final left that takes you down the corridor that will lead back to the ladder.
This corridor has a couple of remaining unsearched rooms in it. They appear to be more office space. The first door you approach opens to realize a room that has yet another desk and two chairs. This time however there are a bunch of objects placed on that table.
You start to search through the objects on the table. Most of them seem to be some kind of space junk. After taking a closer look at one of the objects it looks like it was melted with a highly focused beam of energy and had a slightly burnt smell to it.
After moving a few pieces of junk aside you notice a box being concealed by the other junk on the table. After you open it you realize it has some kind of CPU in the box. While it is quite alien in nature you are certain it is a CPU.
Do you take the CPU with you? You never know if it could be useful or not. If you do not take it you leave the room and ended up finding the rest of the doors locked on this floor. Otherwise you could take the ladder up or down to re-search the floor below.
