Since you are already on this floor you decided there is no better place to start exploring around than right here. You slowly pan around clockwise to take in the environment as a way to ensure you will not forget what this part of the ship looks like. The last thing you want to do is get lost and not be able to find the exit.
After that, you take a left down a corridor where the sun was beaming in. Unlike other parts of the ship, the lights did not automatically turn on just from you entered the area. There also appears to be no way to manually turn the lights on but for the most part you did not need them on. You just had what ever light that was coming in from the windows.
You do notice in the corridor that there are several doors both on the left and right-hand sides. As you walk up to each one of them you realize that they will not open. Perhaps this corridor of the ship is simply having some power-related issues. As it is clear nothing appears to be working.
After a few dozen steps you find yourself facing down a different corridor. This one seems to notice you are there and all ten of the lights instantly turn on making it a lot easier to see where you are walking. This corridor only has a couple of doors on the right-hand side.
The first door as you approach it opens. You take a look inside and it appears to be some kind of office of sorts. There is a metal desk with a flashing image on it that has some kind of writing you cannot read.
There is also a pulsating purple plant that trembles as you look at it. You decided it is best not to touch the plant. You find yourself in shock that there is nothing left living on this ship. It seems the plant itself has been kept alive by automated watering and nutrition injection systems. Why it has not grown wild and at least overtaken the room by now will forever be unknown to you.
One thing you do notice is the lack of any paper in this office. There are also no office drawers for storing files in either. All there are is thin sheets of what look like light. When you pick them up it’s like you are holding nothing at all. The thin sheets do give off a slight warmth.
The rest of the room is rather empty. The metal overall look just leaves it rather cold and you no longer feel welcomed inside this office. You turn around and head back into the corridor. Hoping to find a more cheerful room to spend some time in.
A couple of steps later you find yourself at another door. This one however did not open as you arrived at it. You tried knocking but nothing happened. You take a closer inspection of the door and realize there is a red icon around what looks like a slit to place some kind of card into. This door must be locked.
After a further few steps, you find yourself in a large room. It has quite a few metal tables and chairs in it. There is also this strange device on the back wall. It has a bunch of buttons on the device and it looks like something is supposed to pour out of it if you do so.
You decided why not and pressed a couple of buttons on the strange device. Some kind of brown translucent slug starts to pour out of the device. Since you did not have anything to catch what it was pouring out it ended up getting deposited into a waste receptacle.
You wonder if this was something equivalent to coffee. It however did not smell anything like coffee or anything you could even remotely describe. It was something new and exotic to you. Perhaps it’s best to leave it alone. The last thing you would want to be doing is taking some kind of stimulant that you have no idea how powerful it was.
The rest of what you can only assume to be a breakroom was void of anything else. Perhaps this is where whoever use to live on this ship ate some meals for this floor. You felt it was starting to become quite strange that there was almost nothing on this ship whatsoever.
By now you were expecting to at least find some kind of dead alien or something. There was however nothing. Not even a speck of dust on the floor. This floor was like someone had just come by and cleared it.
There were no further rooms on this corridor to explore. So you took a few steps till you find yourself going down yet another corridor. Like before all the lights turned on. It was however a much shorter space with only five lights before reaching a dead end.
There were quite a few doors in this smaller space. As you approach the first of five doors it opened. The room could not have been bigger than a broom closet. It however did not serve that purpose.
It had a single ten-foot-long bed that was quite low to the ground. There were no sheets or pillows. The sleeping apparatus just had several buttons along one side of it. You decide it was perhaps unwise to press any of them.
Most of the last remaining rooms were all the same. There was nothing to indicate that one room had a certain trait of personality over another. Almost like whoever lived here did not dare put up a single photo of family or friends if they had any. It was quite a sterile environment.
The last room had a piece of glimmering light on the bed. It was in a shape of a small card. You also noticed unlike the other rooms this one seemed to be slightly bigger. The bed was also about double the height off the ground.
You decided to pick up what you can only assume to be a keycard. You hope that it will unlock the room that looked like it was locked. So you started to make your way back to it. You also decided to double-check that you did not miss anything else as you make your way. It appears you searched through enough the first time and did not notice anything new.
As you suspected the item you were holding made of light did unlock the door. Before you could even slide it into the slot which is how you thought it would work. The door slid open. You found yourself in what looked like a mechanical closet.
There were quite a few items inside. You noticed there was a long piece of tubing the size of a 2 by 5 sheet. There were also quite a few containers that had all kinds of liquid that you had no idea what they did.
After closer inspecting all the containers with different liquids in them they all had the same symbol on them. It was a giant red box with yellow strips going through it. It made you feel uneasy as if something unsafe was inside of them. So you decided to leave them be.
The 2 by-4 tubing however looked like it could be something useful. You could pick it up to take it with you. Otherwise, you could leave it behind and go back to the entry where you could either go up to the next floor or down. While you felt it would be silly to leave you could always head back as well and explore your own ship instead.
