Today is the ninth day after my dad had passed away. Such a quick series of events really and it seemed like this is not all real to me.

This day is the last of the novena prayers that we say for him. Everything done virtually as my siblings gather online to say these prayers. This is sinigang na hipon or sour soup with shrimps. Another popular soup which you can find on almost every table here. Other meat choices could be pork or fish

Fried dalagang bukid which is a popular fish here in the Philippines. Good to match with a sour soup

Green mangoes that are about to be ripe are good to go with anything fried like fish. You can add tomatoes and shrimp paste to balance the acidity this is one of my favourite too
