Strange similarities between my father and me

My father was a man who loved to eat. Wherever we went, he would often say things like, "The gohei-mochi I had there was delicious, so I want to go back," or "The ramen I had there was delicious, so let's go together again."

There was a time when I disliked the habit of my father remembering places by such food. I used to tease my father a little, thinking that he couldn't remember places more in terms of scenery or memorable experiences.

Recently, however, I found myself remembering many things in exactly the same way as my father, and I was astonished at myself for how similar we are, only in a strange way. LOL.

The past few months have been very busy, and looking back, I had a fulfilling time. But it doesn't seem that way when you've been so busy that it makes you dizzy because of the stress at the time. As I think about the days gone by, now I feel that it was such a memorable time I experienced. Here are some cinnamon rolls from a time when I went to have a #fika to calm my mind during a stressful time.

Do you ever find yourself in a fast-paced, super-busy world where your perspective is narrowed, anxiety builds up, and stress can overwhelm you?　Such was the case when I visited this Japanese restaurant in Stockholm. It was a time when I was unable to sleep at night due to stress, or perhaps because I was too worried about it. At that time, a friend invited me to go out to eat Japanese food. I rewarded myself and worked again.

Fika! Again!

When I was busy and full of stress, doing a real fika saved me. It's the best way to reset my head, read a book I love, and change my mind.

This is before the memorable day! The day before we faced the real challenge!

They say you can't get good food in England, but I like English food. Like the rest of Europe, the UK is a country that has welcomed many immigrants, and you can eat a lot of authentic food. I don't think this is traditional British food, but I really like fusion food, which is a mixture of various cultures.

This Pho was a memorable meal. The day before, I was feeling a little hungover after drinking beer with my friends for the first time in a long time after the event day, so this Pho was the best I had ever had. Pho is the best meal when you have a hangover! Love it so much!!

After eating Pho, I waited for my flight, but before going to the airport, I had my last chocolate croissant at a cafe I always went to. I have so many memories of this cafe! But I had really good memories. Thanks to my friends!

Fish n Chips!

When you come to England, you can't feel like you've come to England unless you eat Fish n Chips. And eating them at this airport café is the best memory. This view of the cafe is also very nostalgic now that I think about it.

Ahhhhh, I'm back!

I made it! Yes! I did it! This is a treat for me!

I am truly grateful to my colleagues for making these memories that will last a lifetime. I am very happy to have had the opportunity to work with such a good group of people.

わたしの父は食べることの好きな人でした。どこへ行っても、あそこで食べた五平餅が旨かっただからまた行きたいとか、そこで食べたラーメンが旨いからまた一緒に行こうといったことをよく言う人でした。

そういった食べ物で場所を覚える習慣を嫌う時期がありました。なんと風情の無いというか、もっと場所の情景や印象に残った経験で記憶することはこの人にはできないのとすこし父をからかっている自分がその時期のわたしにはいました。

しかし、最近父と全く同じ方法で色々なことを記憶している自分に気づき、なんとまぁ、変なところだけ似るなと自分自身に呆れました。笑。

ここ数か月はすごく忙しく、今思えば充実した時間を過ごしていました。ただ、過ぎ去った日を思い出すとそう思うのですが、目が回るほど忙しい時間を過ごしているとその様には思えないものです。ストレスが溜まりに溜まっていた時期に心を落ち着かせるためにフィーカに行った時のシナモンロールです。

目まぐるしく忙しい時間を過ごしていると、自分の視野が狭まり、不安が積もり、ストレスに押しつぶされそうになる時ってありませんか？　この和食レストランに行ったのがその様な時期でした。夜にストレスからか、目が覚めて寝付けれない時期でした。そんな時に友人が和食を食べに行こうと誘ってくれました。自分へのご褒美し、そしてまた自分を鼓舞しました。

忙しくストレスが一杯になった時、本当にフィーカをすることで救われました。頭をリセットし、自分が好きな本を読んで気分転換するのが一番。

イギリスでは美味しいものが食べれないというけど、わたしはイギリス料理が好きです。イギリスは他の欧州と同じでたくさんの移民を受け入れている国で、本格的な料理をたくさん食べることが出来ます。これは伝統的なイギリス料理ではないと思うのですが、いろんな文化が混ざったフュージョンフードってめっちゃすきです。

このPhoは思い出深い食事になりました。前日は打ち上げで久しぶりにビールを仲間と飲んで少し二日酔いを感じた状態だったので、このPhoは最高に美味しかったです。

Pho食べた後にフライトを待ってたのですが、空港に行く前にいつも行っていたカフェで最後のチョコレートクロワッサンを食べました。このカフェではいろんな思い出が出来たなぁ～。でも、本当にいい思い出が出来た。仲間には感謝！

イギリスに来たらやっぱりFish n Chipsは絶対に食べないとイギリスに来た感じがしない。そして、この空港のカフェで食べるのが一番最高の思い出になる。この景色も今思えばとても懐かしいカフェになった。

あぁーーーー、かえってきたぁーーー！

この様な一生の思い出を作ることが出来た仲間には本当に感謝で一杯です。とてもよい仲間と仕事が出来たことに本当に幸せでした。
