After the cruel and unusual punishment of Tiffany I needed to take a break, fearful to discover who occupies slot #91.
Rock makes a comeback which is a relief to me despite this not being a band I rate too much. Open Up and Say Ah by Poison slots in at #91. The follow up to their triple platinum album Look What the Cat Dragged In this album put the band firmly on the map
Nothing but a Good Time
The above tune was one of three Top 20 singles from the album making it into the top ten. Now I don’t know about you…. But there is very little in this band to make them stars. The vocalist Bret Michaels is decent but nothing spectacular, the sound is middle of the road soft rock with nothing that makes one say WOW. There are some really decent guitar riffs and hooks throughout the album to be fair.
Fallen Angel
From that excellent publication WIKIPEDIA
Open Up and Say... Ahh! is the second studio album by American glam metal band Poison, released in 1988 through Enigma Records. It proved to be the band's most successful release, and spawned four hit singles: "Nothin' but a Good Time", "Fallen Angel", "Your Mama Don't Dance" (a Loggins and Messina cover) and their only #1 single to date, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn".[5] The album peaked at #2 on the US Billboard 200.[6]
Open Up And Say Ahh was certified platinum in 1988 and 5x platinum in 1991 by the RIAA.[7] It also has been certified 4x platinum in Canada and gold by the BPI
Not much more to say so let us go straight to their sole #1 single …
So , let me know what your thoughts are of the band Poison and this album in particular!!
