Greeting Readers
I hope all of you have been doing well. It has been a rough week for me, but here is your update. Be sure to catch up on 's update to see what he has developing in the background.
By the time the ocean-bound party reached the ocean harbour town, Noxus noticed that the bandage which covered Sylthra’s arm, was gone. While there was no injury, the marking that had been there was also gone. Noxus knew then that magical ink with a one-time spell had been used.
Sylthra caught her looking and just grinned at her. “Don’t worry about it! It’s not the first time I have had that particular spell inked onto my skin. Come. There is someone I need to introduce you to.”
“But what about…”
“My first mate will handle all communication with your companions and move them.”
“Moving them?”
“To the ocean-bound ship.”
“But…”
“Don’t worry so much! Come, I know just the place to get some decent wine.”
Noxus didn’t know how Sylthra knew that she had been thinking of getting some good wine for the next leg of their journey, but she was almost grateful. Ale was good and all, but it wasn’t her preferred drink if she could help it. She shrugged her shoulders and followed the dark-skinned elf off the ship.
The harbour was busy with all manner of people coming and going. Noxus missed this. Dragonshold was as fine a castle as any, but it didn’t have the bustling markets that Noxus was used to.
The smells of fish, some sort of alcohol, and harbour smells assaulted her nose, and she couldn’t help but smile broadly. She missed traveling.
Sylthra seemed oblivious to her flitting from one stall to another, immersing herself in it. The elf was keeping an eye open for the trail that had been left for her. Their kind could never be too careful. There was a reason the dark-skinned elves were so rare, and why even fewer came to the surface.
The golden coins that only her eyes could see were hidden in places only she would look. The trail was clear, as was the message.
Come quickly.
Only looking back to make sure the royal advisor was still following, Sylthra moved through the throngs of people until she found the door. She looked around her a few times before knocking the way she had been taught.
Instead of an answer coming, the door swung open. Sylthra grabbed Noxus, who seemed oblivious to the door, and dragged her in. Noxus would have been disgruntled if she weren’t suddenly overwhelmed by the person standing before her.
Where Sylthra had the classic get-up of what Noxus would view as a pirate, the elf standing before her was vastly different. Flamboyant, loud colours, and boasting a large colourful bird on his shoulder.
“The parrot? Really, could you look any more like a book pirate?” asked Sylthra, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
“I could do a peg leg and eye patch.” Said the elf as he swept a comically large hat with several colourful feathers off his head and bowed to Noxus.
“Oh, please don’t. People already think you’re the odder twin.”
“Odder and older.” The man grinned up at his sister.
“Urgh, and you’ll never let me live it down.”
The man straightened up and placed his hat back on his head. The parrot, irritated that it had been dislodged with the bow, flew to a perch not too far away to few the strange trio.
“Well, now what?” it asked.
“Now, we prepare to sail to the isles.” Said Sylthra.
“Hold up.” The man looked at Noxus. “Did you bring it?”
Noxus’s long-term suspicion ended up being true. These were no ordinary elves, no, they were linked to Kai. It was the only way that Sylthra had known which kind of adept she had been. Noxus knew that someone would come to her before reaching the island, but she didn’t know that it would be this soon.
Reaching into her satchel, she removed the covered artifact. She slowly uncovered it, revealing its new black colour.
“You know, you could have ignored this.” Said the brother.
“You know I couldn’t, not when I felt and heard that soul being rend.”
He nodded his head and took the artifact. Once it was in his hands, the black seemed to swirl and disappear out of the ball.
“Welcome back to the fold, Noxus, disciple of Hiral Kai.”
Back to you Zak.
