Hey there, wholesome reader!
Today, I and two of my workmates decided to take a walk at the boardwalk park in Naga City, Cebu and planned to have dinner at the same place. We initially planned to jog around the park as part of our weekly exercise plan but on our way from work, I felt those little menstrual cramps crippling down my stomach so we agreed to just take a stroll around.
We arrived at the park at around 5:30PM but first, we looked for a comfort room since my friends felt the need to urinate. Since the City Hall was just around, we went there and used one of their CRs.
When we entered the building, we were awed by this simple yet eye-catching decoration at the heart of the hall. I truly appreciate this kind of craftsmanship.
Then, we headed back to the outside of the hall where the park is. We strolled around for a while. As you can see on the picture, even on a weekday, there are still a lot of people coming to the park.
After a few minutes of walking, our stomachs churned and we knew that it was time to eat something! There is a portion in the park where stalls selling different kinds of street food line up. And that's where we were heading.
The three of us, unintentionally, had the same food in mind, lol. It is a very common street food but at times we come here to have dinner, we never saw a stall selling this certain street food. So, without further ado, our craving for today was..
This food reminds me of my childhood. When I was in grade school, I went to a public school and all kinds of street food were sold around our school so I really had a lot of memories of this food. I also like the mix of flavors that a cup has to offer - the sweetness from the sweet corn and condensed milk, and the right amount of saltiness from the powdered cheese poured on top of the corn. And this is the best when served hot!
After buying, we looked for a bench where we can sit on and enjoy our food. However, there were enough people to fill in all the empty benches in the park and we could no longer find an unoccupied bench.
So we settled sitting on the grass, under a small tree. There, we satisfied our food cravings and had a few laughs from our not-so-serious conversations. 😅
But, hey, it wasn't so bad at all! The view in front of us and behind us was so stunning. Personally, if I could, I would just stare at it the whole afternoon and probably melt with the sky.
After a few chews and munching, we stood from where we were seated and strolled back to the stalls. We got hungry just by looking at the food stalls so we decided to buy dinner from them and ate on one of the unoccupied benches.
Before I even get to take one bite of my food, one of my friends exclaimed how beautiful the sky was behind me at that time. I turned around and oh, it truly was such a splendor, the perfect way to end this day!
It was already dark the moment we finished eating our dinner but the park even got prettier with lights hung as decorations on trees. We walked towards the highway and went home already.
I really enjoyed doing things like this as I love walking so much! Walking doesn't only help you with your physical health, but also makes unnecessary thoughts take off your mind for a while. For sure, I will always be looking forward to activities like this one in the future.
