When you finally outgrow the "fuck it I'll get some take-out for the 43d day in a row"-phase and want to start cooking for yourself, the amount of recipes out there can get intimidating. Sure, you want to learn something new, but what the fuck is tamarind and do I really need to sell a kidney to buy some saffran? Well, it's a strong flavoured fruit of a tree, used a lot in Eastern cooking and no, only for special occasions but that's beside my point.
I've gathered some absolutely foolproof and really good tasting recipes. You would have to try really hard to fuck these up, but they'll still impress. So, let's start!
First up are fajitas. Lovely spiced meat with the necessary healthy stuff, hugged by a warm tortilla. Jamie Oliver has a really neat recipe, and I promiss you, anyone can make this.
Some extra tips:
Don't have a griddle pan? You totally should, Ikea has one for like 10 bucks or so and it turns boring-ass meat into a miracle. But in the meantime, just use a normal skillet! Non-stick stuff is best.
Don't have smoked paprika? Just used regular old sweet paprikapowder
Don't slice the chicken too thick. You want them at about as wide as your pinkyfinger. That way the inside will cook, without the outside burning.
Have fun!
