Cheese onion rings
Ingredients
- 2 large bulbs;
- 3-4 thin slices of mozzarella (or other cheese that melts well);
- vegetable oil - for frying;
- 250 g of flour;
- 5 eggs;
- 230 g of breadcrumbs.
Preparation
Peel and cut onions with rings about 1 cm thick. With your hands, separate the rings from each other. Slice each slice of cheese into 4 long strips. Take two onion rings and place the smaller one inside the second one. Between them, put a strip of cheese. Repeat the same with the remaining onions and refrigerate for an hour.
Preheat the oil in a deep saucepan. It should be so much that the onion rings float freely in it. Drip a little water in the oil: if it hissed, then it's warmed to the right temperature.
Distribute the flour, whipped eggs and biscuits on different bowls. Dip each ring in flour, then dipped in the egg mixture, and at the end roll in breadcrumbs. In parts, lower the rings into the preheated oil and fry until golden crust on both sides.
Lay them on a paper towel to cover excess fat. Serve cheese onion rings with ketchup or spicy sauce.
