I saw my sis-in-law do this and it's genius.
We were at her place and were talking. She would go out of the room for a min and come back, go and come back again, the third time, she came with a plateful of instant crispy yummy potato chips.
It was like the chips came out of thin air... She was with us basically the whole time.. When did she cook this?
She then showed me how it's done and here is the magic recipe. I don't know if this is known to everyone, but I always made potato chips the old school way - heating the oil and deep frying the potato slices. Too much work!
How to make it
- Slice the potatoes as thinly as possible and evenly into circles.. if you have a grater or mandoline, great!
- Put all these slices in a plastic cover and pour 2 tbsp of olive/vegetable oil onto it and shake it well
- On a butter/parchment paper place each slice without overlapping
- Heat in microwave for about 4 min till the brown shade starts to appear (Increase or reduce the time accordingly).
That's it!
