I have been struggling, and continue to do so, to get back into a running routine. I started "plodding" back in 2012 and did so regularly for about 4 years. It was my escape from the stresses of work, home and anything else. It became a little more difficult when my second daughter arrived as I also started to travel with work.
I've found myself with a little extra time in the mornings since the clocks change as I'm not a great sleeper and it seems am programmed to wake up around 04:30. I had been staying in bed but for the past week have been making myself get up and going out for a run. As before I'm following the Couch25K app on my phone. I'm only a week in but my times have be steadily improving.

I was up OK today but my legs felt like lead for some reason and I had a bit of pain in my shins. I'm not sure if that is down to not warming up/cooling down properly on Saturday, but I decided to take it a little easier than usual...even though that basically meant going out for a walk 😅.
I also took a slightly different route to try and mix it up a little. It can get a little boring plodding the same circuit every time.
I've decided that I'm going to repeat week one of the C25K programme until I'm a little more comfortable. I'm carrying quite a lot of weight at the moment so will take it extra slow.
