The "JustINe-Time-Falafel-Sandwich" -
Wow, I kind of "hate" this "Use 1 Ingredient you have never used in a Sandwich"-Themed Week, it makes my head hurt, thinking about this one ingredient. Even when top sandwiteers like @lizelle shows some real special treat, for me it's more like, yeah tried that, done that. 😉
Now for this week I really had no effing clue what to do, my lovely lady away in Romania, the fridge empty, photo camera broken... I nearly was abandoning the contest. But then with the pressure of not missing this challenge I was checking the competition in this week and by rereading the how to on 's entry, it was the name of this weeks sponsor
who made me realize that she has made some awesome Falafel some time ago and she made me want to put that into a sandwich.
So, here we go for my entry to week eighty three in this most excellent contest on earth, with my not so vegan Falafel bread and the never used: falafel as bread, peppermint & borage flowers. Hope you like it!
While "falafeling", I was listening to "Cheb i Sabbah - Qalanderi"...
This Falafel Sandwich Needs:
The Bread
Yeah, there is no bread this time, because the Falafel will replace it. I followed more or less Justine's recipe. And because I had no dry chickpeas just a premix of some organic falafel thingy I added some Adzuki Beans. And no coconut oil, so I took Colza Oil. It wasn't as fluffy as wanted, still I think it worked quite well.
- Parsley & Garlic
- Peppermint & Borage Flowers
- Carrot
- Beef Entrecôte
Prepare the Falafel like in the mentioned recipe, just form them a little more like a bun. Sauté the beef with the carrot and the peppermint. Then...
- Soy Yoghurt Greek-Style
- Dijon Mustard
put everything nicely together with the flowers on top. A bit of mustard on the beef, prepare the yoghurt with some herbs and spices as you wish. This will be "the point on the i"... 😊
...and don't forget the usual
- Sriracha
for some heat and my way to validate this entry...

I use "only" organic grown ingredients, produced as local as possible.
