Everybody, Bordeaux Season is here! If you are not already privy to the Wine Spectator, allow me to tell you on their behalf: get the 2015 Bordeaux vintage available now, and cellar it for a few years, to unlock some of the best wine you'll ever have...eventually.
sounds good to me. I bought 3 bottles.
Do you prefer left bank or right bank bordeaux? The left bank typically has Cabernet Sauvignon as the dominant grape, blended with Cabernet Franc and Merlot, and sometimes others like Petit Syrah (though not very much). This produces more intense bold wines. Right bank is more Merlot driven, blended with the same grapes as above, and comes out more balanced and mellow. I like both, and typically go for whichever winemaker put more Cab Franc in it, because I love that grape.
And what goes best with your glass of Bordeaux? A homemade pizza made with the help of child labor :)
This little fellow is making me a prosciutto and kale and cheese pizza. mmmm.
