He visitado este lugar muchísimas veces, pero en esta oportunidad fue algo diferente, ya que tuve por primera vez la oportunidad de ser guiada por un personal de dicho Castillo para hacer el recorrido por el mismo.

Fui en compañía de mi hijo José Alejandro, quien no se separa de mi y me acompaña a estas aventuras qué siempre resultan ser fabulosas. Al llegar al castillo junto a un guía se encontraban unas personas que eran visitantes, y ellos pues pidieron ser guiados para saber a cerca de la historia es este famoso Castillo, ubicado en Pampatar en la Isla de Margarita-Venezuela.

I went with my son José Alejandro, who never leaves my side and accompanies me on these adventures, which always turn out to be fabulous. Upon arriving at the castle with a guide, we met some other visitors who asked to be shown around to learn about the history of this famous castle, located in Pampatar on Margarita Island, Venezuela.

Junto a mi hijo nos unimos a este recorrido, ya que era para el la primera vez que escucharía a cerca de esta historia. El estuvo muy atento ante la explicación del guía, el es muy observador y este tipo de historia les fascina. Al entrar la primera parada fue en un espacio donde se encuentran unos cuadros qué fueron elaborados en los años 1860 y es en ese entonces cuando el Castillo es declarado como un lugar histórico.

My son and I joined this tour, as it was the first time he'd heard about this history. He listened attentively to the guide's explanation; he's very observant and this kind of story fascinates him. Seguidamente entramos a un lugar donde reposan la mandíbula de una ballena y allí también se pudo observar algunas armas utilizadas en ese tiempo. Al igual que un croquis donde se encuentra la imagen de este municipio, por completo.

Continuando con el recorrido fuimos al patio central donde se encuntra un pozo el cual pasee una capacidad para recolectar 150 mil litros de agua. Hoy en día el pozo no posee agua y recuerdos de mi infancia cuando solía venir a este Castillo le lanzabamos monedas, ya que según el pozo de los deseos.

La parada que más nos impacto y es la primera vez que escucho la explicación por completa, y es que aquí estuvo Luisa Caseres de Arismedi, mejor conocida como la heroína del Estado Nueva Esparta. Quien se mantuvo en cautiverio por un largo tiempo en este Castillo ba cambio de que revelara la ubicación de su esposo Juan Bautista Arismedi el cual nunca llegó a decir su ubicación, siempre se mantuvo callada para salvaguardar la vida de su esposo.

The stop that impacted us the most, and this is the first time I've heard the full explanation, is that Luisa Caseres de Arismedi, better known as the heroine of Nueva Esparta State, was held captive here. She was kept in this castle for a long time in exchange for revealing the location of her husband, Juan Bautista Arismedi, who never did, remaining silent to protect his life.

Allí encerrada en un lugar muy pequeño, con forma ovalada y el techo era como una cúpula, con la intensión de que al hablar su voz se hiciera escuchar a los lados, pero allí vimos la demostración que al hablar en voy muy baja pegada de las paredes la información llegaba de forma clara como si yo hubiese dicho con voz normal.

Finalmente llegamos al mirador, donde se puede ver el mar y desde ahí se podía ver a quienes quisiera entrar por el mar. Este castillo estaba preparado para el ataque contra los invasores, ya que poseían cañones para su defensa.

Nuestra visita al Castillo san Carlos Borromeo, estuvo lleno de nuevos conocimientos en especial para mi hijo quien captó toda la información y se vino con algo nuevo que contar, lo que más le gustó fue ese lugar donde estuvo presionera nuestra heroína Luisa Caseres de Arismedi y la forma en como se comunicaba con sus compañeros de celda para que, los que estaban afuera no la escucharán.

Our visit to San Carlos Borromeo Castle was full of new knowledge, especially for my son, who absorbed all the information and came away with something new to share.
