### I have always been passionate about video games, I think that since I can remember I love them and enjoy them too much, in a healthy way. I remember that the first game I became addicted to was Prince Of Persia from 1989, I remember playing it in its PC version in a floppy disk port in my first computer which was an IBM with a Pemtium III processor and barely 250mb of RAM, it was an old PC I remember having Windows 98 and I was about 8 years old. > #### Siempre he sido apasionado por los videojuegos, creo que desde que tengo memoria los amo y los disfruto demasiado, sanamente. Recuerdo que el primer juego al que me volví adicto fue al Prince Of Persia del año 1989, recuerdo jugarlo en su versión para PC en un puerto de disquete en mi primera computadora la cual era una IBM con procesador Pemtium III y apenas unos 250mb de memoria RAM, era un PC antiguo recuerdo tener Windows 98 y yo tenía unos 8 años.

### All my life I was a player of PC games, of course I also played consoles like the NINTENDO, SEGA Genesis or PS1, but my favorites were the PC games I grew up with them, I remember playing Counter Strike 1.6, DOOM, Quake, Half Life, Metal Gear Solid, SIMS among others. But all this called my attention even more when I played the iconic GTA III. This game blew my mind, for its freedom and the visual concept of the city in which you were immersed, it was shocking for me to see a 3D modeled city that was also fully interactive for that time. Of course this was also appreciated a lot in Half Life but for me I perceived it much more in GTA III. > #### Toda mi vida fui jugador de Juegos de PC, claro también jugaba a las consolas como el NINTENDO, SEGA Genesis o el PS1, pero mis favoritos eran los juegos PC me crie con ellos, recuerdo jugar Counter Strike 1.6 , DOOM, Quake , Half Life, Metal Gear Solid, SIMS entre otros. Pero todo esto llamo aún más mi atención cuando Jugué al Icónico GTA III. Este juego me voló la cabeza, por su libertad y el concepto visual de la ciudad en el que te sumergían, era impactante para mi ver una ciudad modelada 3D que además era completamente interactiva para aquel entonces. Claro esto también se apreciaba mucho en el Half Life solo que para mi lo percibí mucho mas en el GTA III.

### Much later with the passing of the years I became familiar with true works of art of architecture in video games gems like Assasin’s Creed, Sim City, Final Fantasy, God Of War, Bioshock, Mirror's Edge and even the same GTA San Andreas. Games that are games that with their realism not only in texture but also in physics, the hyperrealism they have makes the game a unique, engaging and enchanting experience. > #### Ya mucho después con el pasar de los años me fui familiarizando con verdaderas obras de arte de la arquitectura en los video juegos joyas como Assasin’s Creed, Sim City, Final Fantasy, God Of War, Bioshock, Mirror's Edge y hasta el mismo GTA San Andreas. Juegos que son juegos que con su realismo no solo en textura sino también en físicas, el hiperrealismo que tienen hace que el juego sea experiencia única, atrapante y encantadora.

### It is something curious to tell, but video games inspired me to create, that is to say before entering the career of architecture in which I already finished my education and I can say that I am an architect, video games caught my attention to the point of generating curiosity for the creation of 3D modeling which integrate them, the desire to learn to create spaces, whether urban planning, buildings, houses, hospitals, parks, squares, shopping malls and interior design, I found and still find it amazing that this can be done and that architecture is a vital tool for the creation, proportion, knowledge and scale of all these virtual spaces is simply amazing. > #### Es algo curioso de contar, pero los video juegos me inspiraron a crear, es decir antes de entrar a la carrera de arquitectura en la cual ya termine mi educación y puedo decir que soy arquitecto, los video juegos llamaron mi atención al punto de generarme curiosidad por la creación de modelados 3D los cuales los integran , el deseo de aprender a crear espacios, ya sean urbanismos, edificios, casas, hospitales, parques, plazas, centro comerciales e interiorismo me pareció y me sigue pareciendo sorprendente que esto se pueda hacer y que la arquitectura sea una herramienta vital para la creación, proporción, el conocimiento y la escala de todas estos espacios virtuales es simplemente sorpréndete.

# Architecture and Videogames a single art. ># Arquitectura y Videojuegos una sola arte.

### Videogames have evolved so much that some people claim that SketchUp, for example, is "The Sims" with a little more difficulty. Of course this is an exaggeration, but it may also show how far video games have come in architecture. On the other hand, we can also say that SIMS literally puts millions of people to create or build various types of buildings without having a professional training in architecture, but it has also inspired a whole generation of architects, including me. > #### Los videojuegos han evolucionado tanto al punto de que algunas personas aseguran que SketchUp, por ejemplo, es “The Sims” con algo más de dificultad. Claro se trata de una exageración, pero también puede mostrar lo lejos que han llegado los videojuegos en la arquitectura. Por otro lado, también podemos decir que SIMS literalmente coloca a millones de personas a crear o construir varios tipos de edificaciones sin contar con una formación profesional en arquitectura, pero que también ha inspirado a toda una generación de arquitectos, incluyéndome.

### Currently games like Minecraft were becoming more and more sophisticated, and gave the tools to create all kinds of architectural fantasy universes in which design and construction gave way to a new dimension: beauty, making people come to games interactively not only for fun but also for an artistic and aesthetic experience, not to mention that in the last 1 or 2 decades video games took a more leading role which is psychology, as they manage to convey various types of emotions to players, immersing the user in the narrative of the title, its characters and the fantasy worlds in which they inhabit. > #### Actualmente juegos como Minecraft fueron volviéndose cada vez más sofisticados, y dieron las herramientas para crear toda clase de universos arquitectónicos de fantasía en los que el diseño y la construcción dieron paso a una nueva dimensión: la belleza, haciendo que la gente no llegue a los juegos de manera interactiva solo por diversión sino también por una experiencia artística y estética, sin mencionar que en las últimas 1 o 2 décadas los video juegos tomaron un papel mas protagónico el cual es la psicología, ya que logran transmitir varios tipos de emociones a los jugadores, sumergiendo al usuario en la narrativa del título, sus personajes y los mundos de fantasía en los que habitan.

### There are not few architects who today model their projects entirely in 3D, this means that the relationship between architecture and video games is remarkable, one of our tools which is the rendering and 3D modeling is precisely the same working tool used for 3D games. We can also mention that the growth of users of audiovisual content has brought with it a growing demand for realistic and credible elements in their products, this without a doubt, is a huge door to a new architectural field has opened for anyone willing to venture through it, maybe, who knows, a legal specialization in "Video Game Architecture" would be great to exist. Just saying. > #### No son pocos los arquitectos que hoy en día modelan sus proyectos íntegramente en 3D, esto quiere decir que la relación entre la arquitectura y video juegos es notable, una de nuestras herramientas la cual es el renderizado y el modelado 3D es precisamente la misma herramienta de trabajo que se usa para juegos 3D. Podemos mencionar también que el crecimiento de los usuarios de contenidos audiovisuales ha traído consigo una creciente demanda de elementos realistas y creíbles en sus productos esto sin duda, es una enorme puerta a un nuevo campo arquitectónico se ha abierto para todo aquel dispuesto a aventurarse a través de ella, tal vez, quien sabe, una especialización legal en “Arquitectura de Videojuegos” seria genial que existiera. Solo digo.

### Video game worlds date in architectural styles and collective memory to create universes that feel real, familiar, recognizable and aesthetically pleasing. One thing that is established is that every video game has its own architectural icon and many of them are remembered precisely for this. Games like Assasins's Creed, show you a more medieval and gothic architectural world which is impressive the level of detail they have in the modeling, which is clearly appreciated when we have to climb buildings to hide. > #### Los mundos de los videojuegos datan en estilos arquitectónicos y en la memoria colectiva para crear universos que se sienten reales, familiares, reconocibles y estéticos. Algo que está establecido es que cada videojuego tiene su propio icono arquitectónico y muchos de ellos son recordados precisamente por esto. Juegos como Assasins’s Creed, te muestran un mundo arquitectónico más medieval y gótica lo cual es impresionante el nivel de detalle que tienen en los modelados, que se aprecia con nitidez cuando tenemos que escalar edificios para ocultarnos.

### In contrast to the above we also have games like Cyberpunk which seeks to show a totally futuristic city with a very Neon vibe whose extension seems infinite and does not end at the horizon composed of a large conglomerate of skyscrapers and games that create a lot of beauty as The Witcher, Batman: Arkham Knight, FallOut and GTA V which tries to convey a lot of action but the realism, the panoramas and physics, make it a unique experience to play. > #### En contraste a lo anterior también tenemos juegos como como Cyberpunk el cual busca mostrar una ciudad totalmente futurista y con una vibra bastante Neon cuya extensión parece infinita y que no termina en el horizonte compuesta por un gran conglomerado de rascacielos y juegos que crean muchísima belleza como The Witcher, Batman: Arkham Knight, FallOut y GTA V los cuales intenta transmitir mucha acción pero que el realismo, los panoramas y las físicas, lo hacen una experiencia única de jugar.

### Finally we can say that video games and virtual reality as part of the movement of 3D design software and computer aided rendering have evolved and transformed the architecture is an undeniable fact, as I mentioned above as an architect I see it as another sector where many of us can develop our professional work and bring that "I do not know what" that we architects have, we can bring a lot of ideas in cities, interior design, design of graphics engines and textures. > #### Para finalizar podemos decir que los videojuegos y la realidad virtual como parte del movimiento del software de diseño 3D y renderizado asistido por computadora han evolucionado y transformado la arquitectura es un hecho innegable, como mencione anteriormente yo como arquitecto lo veo como otro sector donde muchos de nosotros podemos desenvolver nuestra labor profesional y aportar ese “no se qué” que tenemos los arquitectos, podemos aportar muchísimas ideas en ciudades, interiorismo, diseño de motores gráficos y texturas.
