Yeah! Never tried deep fried pig intestines before or at least not that I know of. Sometimes my mom would feed me random Chinese food growing up and I'm still learning what some of it was, haha!

It really is because not only does it become bubbling hot, but usually quite spicy too! Haha!

It's described as having a earthy, peppery flavour with a slight bitterness. It's also known as "achiote" in Mexican cuisine if that helps. This article was very informative in case you're curious
