Dipped the knife in acid to get it black and then used my dremel to carve/engrave the design n there. It was pretty fun! :)

Awesome! I'm planning on using 1095. I have a buddy thats a chef and he wants a chef's knife. Never made one before....figured I'd try and go all out....lol.

No...I do what they call stock removal. I want to try forging in the future....it's on the to do list basically. lol. So many rabbit holes to go down in knife making!

GREAT POST! I'm a stock removal guy myself. I've used both stainless and high carbon steels. Most of my current models have been done out of stainless though. I do plan on trying to forge my own damascus
