Nobody ever talks about Coeliac's Disease. I want to share with you the nitty-gritty, the gross, and the reality behind what I live with in a day-to-day basis.
Please understand, I love food.
No, seriously, I LOVE food.
I dedicated myself to the goal of attaining a gluten-free body, which has made me feel healthy in ways that I've never experienced before. Consider it: never before have I understood what it was to have energy. Never before have I had the ability to delve into fitness, despite my early dedication to strength training. Never before have I truly felt as happy as I've always known that I was created to feel and to share with the world.
Today, I wanted to share my joy with you. On the left is pictured my body in full reaction to gluten. On the right is a comparison for what my body does in the absence of gluten.
Can you feel it? The absence of gluten in my very cells allows me to feel that very thing that most people would take for granted: I feel normal. I feel able. I feel empowered. I feel joy, healthy, strong, lucid, and wonderful.
In sharing this very personal photo with you, I pray that I may reach those of you who may also be suffering under the cloud of gluten-poisoning, as well as to share this experience with those of you who have never even heard of coeliac disease.
Please feel free to leave any further inquiries in the comments, as I would love to clarify exactly what it has been like to live with this "invisible disease", in the hopes that I can raise awareness and provide stability to those of you who share this plight with me. A full life is possible.
