Intro:
Chicken is currently one of the prime foods in Bangladesh after fish. Because the price of chicken in Bangladesh has come down a lot since the advent of broiler system and it is now within the reach of the all classes of people and thus, chicken is the second-choice food for the common people of Bangladesh. Starting from roasting to fry or grill and various recipes with chicken are common in Bangladesh. One of the main recipes is chicken curry with potatoes which I love most. Moreover, all over the world, different types of chicken recipes are popular and considered as a very common and delicious food in the society. Today I will try to give you some homemade chicken curry’s descriptive recipes. As I said before in my earlier post that I am not an expert in cooking but I am trying to learn cooking now a days. I will share some of that experiences here one by one. If there is any mistake, you will look at it with an apologetic look and correct me.
Ingredients:
Here is a list of the ingredients you need for a chicken curry. In fact, it is not very difficult to cook if the ingredients that are needed for cooking are properly prepared at hand.
- Chicken
- Chicken Masala
- Onion slice
- Soyabean Oil
- Garlic blended
- Salt
- Cumin Powder
- Ginger (Blended)
Some general words
I will now describe the method of cooking. The most important thing in this case is how to get the necessary ingredients at hand. For example, all the ingredients that I usually need for cooking at home, such as garlic, onion, ginger, cumin, coriander and spices, are pre-dried, blended and stored in the refrigerator. So, you don't have to worry about making these materials every day. The task of cooking is pretty simple if only the ingredients are ready with moderation.
Those of you who are very busy and want to reduce cooking time can easily apply this method if you want and I hope this method will keep the taste of cooking intact as well as reduce your time in cooking. Because we are busy at this time of the day, so many people do not have lazy time to spend extra time for cooking. However, for those who work as a chef and do various researches on it, it is better to use fresh spices and ingredients to enhance the taste.
How to cook:
The chicken is not frieded in this way. All spice ingredients like onion paste, garlic paste, ginger paste, cumin paste, coriander paste, salt as like amount, chilli powder, and turmeric powder should be mixed with a little soybean oil and spread very well on the chicken pieces. The purpose of this mixture is to mix the meat and spices together for a better blend. Then heat a little oil in a pan and leave the spices mixed with the chicken into the pan. At this time, to cook the meat well, you have to cook it with some water, that is, you have to cook it well. After cooking for about 10 minutes, when the spices and other ingredients are easily mixed with the chicken and turn brown, add water to the same container or another container (and the necessary ingredients such as round potatoes, which are small pieces which has already been cut) should be mixed. Now cover with a lid and cook well for 20 to 25 minutes. In this case, how long it will take to cook depends on how much you wants to soften and cook the meat. If a pressure cooker is used, the meat is cooked and softened within five to ten minutes. It takes more than 20 minutes in a normal cooker.
The amount of ingredients I talked about is how much of these ingredients you will use in the chicken, it depends on your taste and needs, i.e. who prefers which one, such as garlic, onion, ginger. So, I did not mention the amount in detail here. You can mix different amounts and change it according to your taste. And when it comes to boiling, you can boil for as long as you like, that is, as soft as you like to eat.
Final Words
In the last pictures you can see how beautifully the cooking is finished and it is as beautiful to look at and very tasty as the food. This is because this chicken curry has potatoes with different spices which are very tasty to eat with rice. Such cooking is very common in Bangladesh but may be new in foreign countries so I have tried to describe in detail here if any person interested in cooking can benefit a bit from this post.
