The Filipino lumpia come in many forms and Lumpiang Sariwa is one example of it.
Lumpiang Sariwa or Fresh Spring Roll is a Filipino vegetable dish composed of different vegetables with a soft (unfried) wrapper like crepe, garnished with sweet sauce and crushed peanuts. Some popular variations of this dish are lumpiang ubod (made with heart of palm) and lumpiang hubad(Unwrapped version of lumpiang sariwa).
It is the fresh version of the popular fried Lumpia. Don’t be mistaken though, Fresh Lumpia is traditionally called “fresh” not because it’s a raw dish but because it’s not fried like its counterpart.
Fresh Lumpia is typically not a finger food. A fork is used to break apart and eat this beautifully presented dish.
