Last weekend I tried for the first time to prepare homemade burger buns. The result was really good and the bread was far more good tasting than the bought one. And also more healthy thanks to the ingredient used and the lack of preservatives. So, here's the recipe.
Ingredients
- 180 ml of hot water
- 30 g of softened butter
- 1 egg
- 450 g of manitoba flour '0'
- 50 g of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cube of fresh brewer's yeast (25 g)
- Sesame seeds
Directions
- Mix all the ingredients for the dough and knead it for about 10 minutes until it becomes soft and smooth.
- Put it in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a cloth. Let it rise for 1 or 2 hours, until it doubles in volume.
- Lightly deflate the dough and cut into 8 pieces. Form a disk with a thickness of about 2.5 cm and a diameter of 8 cm each.
- Put the rolls on a slightly oiled baking pan, cover and let rise for another hour.
- Turn on the oven at 190° C. Brush the sandwiches with a mixture of oil and water, then sprinkle with the sesame seeds.
- Cook in the pre-heated oven until golden, for about 15 minutes.
