Hey Steemians
Today I shamed my family.
Not really but squats did not go well.
I started out my day doing some work outside in 20° and neglected to eat lunch so going into the workout I had a feeling it was gonna be tough.
Tough was an understatement
I'm pretty bummed but it's my own fault for forgetting to eat, but it is what it is. I was doing something that's been put off for too long as it is so I'm at least glad I got started on that project even if it did have an impact on my workout.
The look of defeat
Warm up
Of course @Goldarr is joining me
Good warm up, my quads were feeling it just after this so I knew that wasn't a good sign lol.
The working sets were ok. @Goldarr's sets all moved really well, so that was good.
As you can see, this is where the shame came in. The top set called for 2+, but I failed on the second rep. I actually tried it again after this. My thought was "If I can just get another single that can be good enough."
I couldn't, and it wasn't.
Oh well I tried.
Moving on to front squats, again @Goldarr moving well. Mine moved pretty good also, so that at least made up for it. Well, I shouldn't say it made up for it but I was happy I didn't fail on front squats too lol.
Conditioning
Tarick laid out this little circuit. Looked easy enough on paper, but dang it got tough fast. I'm gonna pretend it's because of my over all mood and fatigue ha.
Well, that was the workout. I'm looking forward to next week when I can redeem myself and forget about today all together.
Oh!
But before I go, look what came in the mail!
Merry Christmas to me
260lb set from Vulcan
It's not a trap bar, sorry , but a good guess.
I'm pretty excited to have more weight, and now I probably won't need any more plates again unless far in the future I decide I'd like to sell all my plates and buy competition plates but I dunno if I'll ever have that wild hair.
Anyways, what did you guys train? What do you do when you have a bad workout?
Ok guys have a great evening!
