About a month ago, I gave the recipe I found for cream of chicken soup and mentioned that I was using it in my yummy Italian cream cheese chicken recipe. said she would love the recipe, so here you go! It is really easy, tasty and one of our favorites! I make it for pretty much every meal that we have to bring something to share with others.
I got this recipe from my mom (who apparently got it from this site), but I change it up a little bit. The original recipe calls for it being cooked in a crock pot, but I have cooked this on my stove and had it taste just as good in much less time. The other day I even made it with a rotisserie chicken and it tasted great. I usually serve it over rice and sometimes mix it all together in the crock pot.
Crockpot Italian Chicken
4 chicken breasts
1 packet dry Zesty Italian dressing (Regular works too.)
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese
1 can cream of chicken soup
Place the chicken in a crockpot and sprinkle Italian dressing packet over it. Pour in cream cheese and cream of chicken soup. Cook on low for at least 4 hours. If you feel the sauce is too thick you can thin it to your preferred consistency with a little milk. Serve over pasta or rice.
If you cook it on the stove instead of in a crockpot, boil the chicken before hand so it's cooked, or use a rotisserie chicken. You can use fresh or frozen chicken breasts to do this recipe.
Let me know if you try it. It's so easy and yummy!! Buen Provecho as they say here in Panama.
