If you ever find yourself in Southwest Virginia (Roanoke, to be specific), check out Blue Cow Ice Cream.
Here’s a link to their website...
I’m from Youngstown, Ohio, which is home to the original Handels Ice Cream location. It’s safe to say I consider myself a connoisseur of the dessert. Blue Cow knows exactly what they’re doing. They make small batch, handmade ice creams that are full of flavor. They rotate flavors regularly, which leads to us filling up our freezer with pints of our current favorites.
If you find yourself in Roanoke, try the Goat Cheese with Blueberry, Sea Salt Caramel Brickle, or any of their amazing options (RIP Salty Buttered Almond...I hope they bring you back soon). They’re creating art in a pint.
I still haven’t figured out why I love ice cream when the weather is cold, but that’s a story for another day.
