Today I'm gonna cook for you one of our favorite beef recipe, my recipe is not so different from the other Nilaga recipe, the only thing that makes it different is overloaded with ingredients.
NILAGA
• The word used in Filipino language which means to boil. It is one of the most common dish found in every part of our country Philippines.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 kilo of beef shank
- squash 1/2
- cabbage 1/2
- bok choy (pechay) 2 bundle
- corn 1 sliced into 4
- onion 1
- onion's leek
- fish sauce (patis)
- knorr beef cubes 1
- water 1liter
PROCEDURE
- Wash the beef and get a pot put the beef and put the 1 liter of water then turn on the stove in medium fire and let it boil.
- Once it boil remove the scum
- Add the onion *(do not chop the onion)
- Add also the corn then simmer it until the beef is tender.
- When the beef is tender you may now add the squash, beef cube and simmer again until the squash is cook.
- After that you may now put the remaining vegetables which is the bok choy (pechay) and the cabbage.
- Put the some fish sauce or salt according to your taste.
- You may also add pepper if you want, in my case I did not put pepper, so for me this is optional.
- Simmer the vegetables but don't overcook it, must maintain its crunchiness.
- Serve steaming hot with plain rice.
