I am a really big fan of the air fryer. It is so easy to use, my food is healthier overall and it saves me so much time! I love trying new things and recipes and have had amazing success with crispy roasted chickpeas and edamame beans, something I just could not achieve with a conventional oven.
On the other hand, I can easily achieve super crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside roast potatoes in a conventional oven. Air fryer? Not so much. I have tried a couple of different things from baby potatoes (total disaster) to normal sized potatoes but that doesn't seem to work particularly well either. They taste good but for some reason I cannot get that awesome crispiness which let's face it, is the reason we all love roast potatoes.
The recipe is simple enough - extra virgin olive oil, paprika, garlic salt, sea salt, pepper and ground cumin combined in a bowl, add the potatoes cut up into small chunks (skin on) and cooked in a pre-heated air fryer for 30 minutes. Now to just get the crispy factor right. I will try peeling the potatoes and see what happens. Also, I might rather use a different oil and see if there is any difference in how the potatoes turn out.
If that works, I am definitely publishing the full recipe!
