Christmas is coming, so it's the right season for Gingerbread Biscuits! I've tried some different recipes before finding one where the spieces are really balanced and not too strong. Here's the final version, I hope you'll enjoy it!
Ingredients:
- 350g of flour (12.35 oz)
- 130g sugar (4.58 oz)
- 150g butter (5.29 oz)
- 1 egg
- 1 pinch of salt
- 100g of honey (3.53 oz)
- 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons of ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon of powdered cloves
- 1/2 sachet of baking powder
Directions:
- Sift flour, spices and baking powder into a bowl.
- Add the sugar, chopped butter, honey, egg and salt.
- Knead until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
- Wrap in a film and store in the fridge for about two hours.
- Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 5mm, then make the biscuits.
- Place the biscuits on a baking pan and bake in the ventilated oven at 180 Celsius degrees (356 F) for about 10 minutes.
- Allow to cool and place in a tin box to preserve the fragrance.
