You may say its not summer yet. But in California it already feels like it. We had a couple nice warm weekends in a row, and after sampling my local Cajun restaurant's crawfish platter, it inspired me to try to make my own! By the way i'm enjoying a nice white ale in a mason jar mug there.
Well all you need for a shrimp and crawfish boil is a beer pot cooker...also doubles nicely to cook anything you want really. It has nice even heat and can even take a little breeze while it burns.
Here is my setup. Potatoes and corn in first, then just a few minutes before its done, put the crawfish and shrimp in, and youre ready to go. I get those "shrimp boil in a bag" boxes which cost about 2 bucks, which have all the right seasonings in 1 bag. And I put a ton of Old Bay Seasoning in as well.
I made a little red beans and rice in the green pot pictured, for a side...but really, we just go for the crawfish and shrimp here. Add lots of white wine, and the backyard party is in full boil. nice spread!
