@JustinParke here again with a curation of Hive's finest #plantbased recipes. The #plantbased tag is starting to pick up steam, and we thank those of you choosing to add this to your #naturalmedicine posts.
As always we have some familiar faces sharing their delicious recipes with us, but I'm always on the lookout for new #plantbased chefs to introduce to our community. I did manage to find a diverse collection this week, from the sweet to the spicy and healing.
The spice this week was brought to us by and
, both with delicious dishes, one of which I was able to eat and verify its deliciousness. We all know Pov as our resident Cambodian chef, but perhaps lesser known is Indian-Chinese food, one of my all-time favorites.
We have the heavy to the healing, with a rich gnocchi dish from and a porridge-like dish that's part of nutritional healing plan from
. I went a little cookie crazy too, and found two awesome recipes from
and
.
shared a very interesting probiotic take on cream cheese that doesn't involve nutritional yeast. She is the winner of this week's 5% beneficiary for providing such an interesting twist on what could've been just another vegan cheese recipe.
A side note - you may have noticed that we've moved from
to
, and Plant Based will be replacing Earth Healing. Earth healing topics will still be supported, of course, so keep using the tags #ecotrain and #naturalmedicine for any content that nourishes and supports our beautiful planet!
How to Be Curated by PLANT BASED
Use the tags #naturalmedicine #vegan or #plantbased
WE don't mind what community you post in - although we prefer you post in the Ecotrain or Natural Medicine communities!
Ensure your recipes are plant based - although we don't preach any diets, this curation would like to focus on plants rather than dairy or meat additions to recipes.
Use clear, well focussed photographs - and ORIGINAL content!
🧀 A CREAMY SPREAD 🥯
I get used to seeing nutritional yeast on the ingredient list of most pseudo-cheese recipes, but this one from has a twist. That twist is probiotic fermentation, which results in what is probably a little sour and less sweet that eating this spread fresh.
Even though it's been 20+ years since I ate store-bought cream cheese, I still remember it being too sweet for my preferences, even in my pre-vegan days. I can imagine this spread along with a nice toasted bagel, something I haven't seen in ages, but I guess I can dream.
🍄 Do You Gnow Gnocchi? 🥔
Gnocchi is one of my favorite non-Asian foods, and it's always been a soul-food to me, likely because potatoes are a very homely vegetable. Some kind of marinara, tomato-based sauce, or pesto is what I'm used to seeing it paired with, so this recipe caught my attention.
prepared her gnocchi with a mushroom-cashew cream sauce, something I've never eaten with gnocchi, but I have a pretty decent imagination, and all the umami flavor from the mushrooms would be nice with the hearty and filling gnocchi.
👩🍳 BRING ME FIRE 🔥
Keep the dried chilies coming and don't stop, I want my food spicy enough for instant hiccups. There are very few dishes I like to eat so spicy it causes instant hiccups, but larb is one of those dishes. I would've never imagined to pair larb tofu with with glass noodles, but it is now legendary.
Larb master makes it better than anyone around, she even trained a #1 TripAdvisor-rated Thai restaurant how to prepare her version of this dish, something the restaurant's owner used to eat at our place a few times a week. Cool down the fire with cucumber and you won't have any problems with this dish.
🧒 CHILDHOOD FLASHBACKS 🍪
Growing up in the USA means you know what chocolate chip cookies are, and it doesn't matter what state you're from. I have only ever eaten vegan chocolate chip cookies a few times in my life, and they definitely take me back to the 1980s.
showed us these classic cookies don't have to contain dairy ingredients and can still be just as delicious as the original, perhaps even better. I don't have access to a few of the ingredients to make this recipe, but definitely will someday when I can purchase everything I'll need.
🍪 COOKIE CRAZY 🥥
Coconut is king, from spicy curries to tapioca puddings and fruit shakes, it is such a versatile ingredient. This recipe is far from complicated, you could even get away with using a toaster oven and still produce some delicious cookies.
The smell of these little treats baking in the oven would fill your house with the smell of coconut goodness. always has some interesting #plantbased recipes to share with us, and this is a simple recipe I am sure to try soon.
🥕 A HEALING RECIPE 🥒
No it's not barley, black-eyed peas, or lotus seeds, these are Job's tears, the seed of a grass originating in India, and part of a nutritional healing plan for a friend of , located in Thailand. I may or may not have seen these things before, but now I know what they are, and at least one way to prepare them.
An underweight friend with problems eating spicy Thai food needed a simple and healthy nourishing recipe to get her back on her feet and with a healthy gut, so this awesome Hiver was nice enough to prepare this dish for a woman-in-need, I hope whom is getting stronger every day.
🚀 THE GREAT BEYOND 🌌
I'm always searching outside the community for Hivers who have either forgotten to use the #naturalmedicine tag along with #plantbased and #vegan recipe tags, or are unaware of our community. There are plenty of #plantbased dishes falling through the cracks, and many of the chefs making these dishes should be warmly welcomed into our community.
shared an awesome video and step-by-step recipe for an Indian-Chinese fusion dish. I was never aware of how awesome Chinese food made by Indian chefs is until I visited India. This recipe is an awesome example of an Indian take on Chinese food, and I highly recommend you try it.
We hope you get involved with posting lots of yummy #plantbased #vegan #naturalmedicine #ecotrain recipes! Both communities are now also supported by OCD, so good quality posts might also get a little bit of extra love. Stay healthy, stay safe, and stay happy!
