- These are deep-fried Indonesian style fried rice balls. So I figured, I would make a Korean version of this by using a Korean Style Fried Rice instead. If you don’t like carbs on carbs you can also just eat these by themselves as a snack. Also for all you air-fryer people. You can definitely cook these in an air-fryer but the colour just won’t be as pretty :P ENJOY!
Ingredients:
(Fried Rice)
2 green onions
1/4 carrot
1 onion
2 mushrooms
1/2 Cup Kimchi (chopped)
2 tbsp Korean Red Pepper Paste (gochujang)
2 tbsp Soy Sauce
1 tsp Minced Garlic
1 tsp Minced Ginger
Pepper (to taste)
2 eggs
1 cup uncooked Rice
1 pack Roasted Seaweed
Oil for Cooking (I used Sunflower Oil)
(Breading the Rice Ball)
1 cup Flour
1 Egg
1 Cup Panko Bread Crumbs
(Dipping Sauce)
2 tbsp mayonaise
1 tsp mustard
1/2 tsp sriracha
1/2 tsp sugar
Step By Step
Step 1: Cut all your veggies and mix your sauce ingredients
Step 2: Heat up a frying pan and stir-fry the egg and remove from pan.
Step 3: Cook the veggies and after 5 minutes, add the rice, sauce ingredients, seaweed, egg, and green onions.
Step 4: Let the fried rice cool a bit and shape them into balls.
Step 5: Coat the rice balls with flour, followed by egg, followed by panko crumbs.
Step 6: Heat up sunflower oil and fry the rice balls until nice and golden brown.
Step 7: Prepare your bun and toppings of choice and assemble the bokkeumbap burger.
Step 8: Squish the burger so you can actually take a bite.
Enjoy! :)
