In my life, I never had to worry about cooking food, because mostly others did it for me! I knew how to make a few dishes and that’s it. I never thought that I would have to learn how to prepare a bunch of dishes, find recipes and learn from my own mistakes how to make a dish better.
A little over a year ago, my wife and I broke up. after that I started living with my parents, but a little over a month ago my mother passed away! Since then, my father and I have lived together, two men who have never cooked in their lives have been forced to figure out for themselves what to cook and to learn how to cook a dish!
Today I cooked stuffed paprika for lunch, in Serbia, the country where I live, this dish is considered something special, a culinary specialty. It is not my intention to explain the recipe for this specialty to you, every woman in Serbia knows that 1000 times better than me, I am just a beginner cook! I don't cook every day because I don't have much time for it, mostly during the week my father does it, I cook mostly on the weekends when I'm not working.
At the beginning, I considered cooking to be something intricate and frightening, but I soon realized that I actually enjoy what I do, I can say that I surprised myself with what I cooked. Today's lunch "stuffed paprika", I have cooked them only 2-3 times so far, it is basically a very simple dish, today I experimented a little more by playing with spices on my own, trying to achieve the best possible taste.
During the whole cooking process, I often have to try the taste to know what is missing. I prepared today’s dish maybe about 90 minutes long. The photos in the post are there to illustrate the stages in the preparation of this specialty.
