Good day!
It is cooking time again for me. Today, I cooked an "Ilokano" popular dish that is popular here in our town. Ilokanos commonly called "Inabbraw". Inabraw can be translated into "Vegetables Soup with Fish Sauce". Specifically, the dish that I cooked is "Squash Flowers and String Beans Soup with Fish Sauce". This is actually the first time that I am going to cook this dish since I am a "Tagalog" and my husband is the one who is an "Ilokano". I am still learning a lot about the Ilokano dish and my husband is always there to teach me (which he did in this dish). This dish is surprisingly straightforward to prepare and cook. Cooking Time is a maximum of ten minutes.
Ingredients
- Squash Flowers (100 grams)
- Squash Young Leaves (50 grams)
- String Beans (150 grams) - medium length
- Fish Sauce (2-3 tablespoons)
Preparing the ingredients
I just removed some parts of the flowers and young leaves of the squash (check image comparison below).
In the case of the string beans I just peeled the ones that are already matured and then I cut the young one into smaller section (see image comparison below)
I readied the fish sauce into a bowl
How to cook
1. Put the string beans into a bowl and put some water (about 3 cups)
2. When it starts to boil add the squash flowers, young leaves, add the fish sauce then wait for them to be cooked. When it is cooked turn off the heat.
Add some into a bowl and serve
Thank you all for the support.
