Hello foodies! I know it's not Sunday already as the name of my little cooking series is entitled, but since I always say that weekends are for cheat days and to take a break from all the healthy food we eat during the week, I thought about sharing the recipe today which even though is not very healthy, it will be a lot safer to prepare it at home instead of buying it directly from the fast foods.
I've actually wanted for a while now to give a try of preparing some burgers at home instead of buying them from all kind of restaurants, so this moments couldn't come in a better moment. 😍 Here we go with my hamburger recipe:
- 4x American Burger Buns
- 4x Meat Burgers (Angus Beef)
- Cheese
- French Fries
- Cabbage
- Sweet Chilli
- Optional: tomato slices, onion, mayonnaise etc
I started by first cutting in slices the salad and cheese I was going to use for the burgers, which then I added in the burger buns along with the sweet chilli, and left everything on the grill until the cheese was completely melted and the burger bun had its slices glued together.
After everything cools down for a few minutes, you can separate the buns again and let them rest until the other ingredients will be ready and you can assemble the hamburgers.

For the cabbage, I decided to only detach a few leaves which then I cut in two each of them and left those on side as well until the meat was cooked. You can also grate the cabbage for a better aspect but since I never liked eating a hamburger which at the first bite starts losing its ingredients, I thought it would be better to keep it this way. 😁
You can also replace this with green salad or other types of salad instead of what I used.
For the cooking part of the recipe, I wanted to keep trying to stay away from getting too much oil in my burgers, so I added the french fries in an air fryer that don't need any oil because everything will be ready in ~20 minutes just by cooking everything under the hot air.
If you don't own an air fryer, you can also prepare the potatoes either in the oven or in the frying pan.

I used the same grill where I cooked the burger buns for the meat burgers as well, but if you want to have them cooked uniform I recommend adding them in a bath of oil from a frying pan. I used the grill to avoid serving a food with too much oil in it.
And... here is how everything turned out as soon as I assembled the burgers with all the ingredients.
Just as you know, you can serve burgers in many forms from the chicken ones to these containing beef, from a burger with many vegetables or those which are very rich in sauces, and more.
It all depends on how you usually like to eat a tasty burger because there are literally endless options of recipes to try out. However, this is how I prefer serving them and I wanted to share my recipe on here with the hope that maybe it will inspire some other people to try it too. 😃
