Today, I will like to intimate us on the processes involved in making the local delicacy called "moimoi". It is delicious and can be eaten with with various supplemements such as bread, pap, custard and so on. Let's get started.
INGREDIENTS
Beans
Red peppers
Onions
Spices like Maggi, salt
Water
Fishes
PREPARATION
- first things first, is to measure your desired quantity of beans and then soak the beans in a big bowl of water.
- after soaking for a few minutes, you peel the back away. I used mortar and pestle to make mine faster.
- after peeling, you was thoroughly and grind smoothly, you can use a blender or a manual machine.
- after grinding, you add all the necessary ingredients like spices, Maggi, salt, crushed fishes and so on to taste.
I forgot to take a picture of the paste. But guys, after grinding, serve them up using nylon or moimoi cups and place in a pot on fire. After about 30 to 45mins,your moi moi should be ready.
It came out pretty, smooth and delicious. It's a healthy delicacy prepared by almost everyone in Nigeria and it's also prepared at occasions, as it can be eaten alongside with rice. It's proteinous and good for the health.
