Saturday time!!!
Time to visit my Aunt again. I am going to write on what she cooked today and also what she prepared on another Saturday (1st July) which I had no time to pen down yet. Let's!
Today's lunch!
She cooked 3 dishes. She missed the boys but they didn't come because my eldest son was not well, and the last I wanted was she got sick too.
Chicken Tomato
She called this Western dish. She lightly pan fried the chicken, then added some potatoes and tomatoes and water, followed by adding in one can of tomato pasta sauce. The chicken meat was so soft and juicy, the whole dish was appetizing
Steamed Minced Pork
She marinated the minced pork with sesame oil, salt, pepper and some soy sauce, beat in one egg and mixed them up. Topped with some pieces of salted egg then steamed the whole dish. Very Hakka flavour, I loved it.
Stir fry beans and tofu
This was a bland dish, she said. But to me, still very yummy. She lightly stirred fry the French beans and tofu together with some sesame oil and some oyster sauce. Delightfully delicious.
She also bought two packets of raisins and two caramel sweets for the boys.*
1st July's Lunch!
For this day, she cooked 3 dishes too. I remembered the boys did go together too due to the snack biscuits she bought for them.
Chicken with Dark soy sauce
This was one easy Chinese dish, basically just added in chicken, soy sauce and dark soy sauce with rock sugar and to stew until the meats were soft. Simple and delicious. I could eat this only with my rice, and super love it.
Fried Prawns
There were 18 prawns altogether in here. We super love her fried prawns. She always managed to buy very fresh prawns and the simple flour mix by flour, salt, pepper and some chicken powder make the prawns really yummy. We dipped this in a ketchup and simply bliss!
Mungbean noodles wit fishballs and gourds
This one was our favorite too. She said she played cheating this round by just usinn anchovies sauce and not by using her broth cooked by using bones. She didn't buy lettuce and so she figured out that she could some gourd type of vegetables. I did not quite sure this was what gourd but the soup was so delicious, together with all the fishballs and the mungbean noodles.
She also bought for the boys some choco biscuits with creamy coco as the fillings.
It was such lovely luck at my Aunt's place. I always look forward to this day whereby I did mot need to cook and I got to eat other's homemade cooked food. Do you spot on any dishes you like from above? Thank you for reading.
