Hello, food lovers of Hive!
My sister celebrated her birthday last Wednesday in this buffet restaurant called Yakimix. This restaurant has been around for quite some time and has been our family go-to for celebrating birthdays and other events. I realized that each time we visit they serve different dishes. The Japanese concept of ichigo ichie, which means what we experience right now will never happen again, surely applies to this restaurant. So I thought of sharing some of my favorite dishes in this restaurant.
It was a rainy evening when we got to the restaurant. Despite the heavy traffic, we arrived around 6pm, just in time for dinner. Thankfully, there was no queue outside. While waiting for my other family members to arrive, I looked around the restaurant and notice this beautiful lamp with Chinese characters on it. This reminds me of some historical Korean dramas I’ve watched.
A moment later, we’re now complete and very excited to eat. The friendly staff of the resto accompanied us to our table and set up the grill pan. The buffet set up looks very elegant because of the eye catching chandelier. The first dish I got was their penne pasta in tomato sauce. I always look forward to the pasta section in every buffet. They also have kimchi soup, different flavored chickens, potatoes and fries, and so much more. A variety of raw seafoods and meats were also displayed to be grilled on our own.
My favorite amongst all the dishes are their ebi tempura and sushi. I also noticed that their ebi tempura platter are almost always empty so we have to wait for the refill. I guess many of the customers also love their tempura.
For the beverages, they serve cucumber lemonade, mango juice, strawberry ice tea, sodas, coffee and tea in the buffet. Knowing myself, I got myself some cucumber lemonade and requested for water. I forgot to take a picture of the beverage section though.
Down to the most awaited part of the dinner is the dessert. I was so full during this time that I only opt for their ice cream- strawberry and ube flavor. There’s always room for dessert, they say. Cakes, variety of fruits, salads, gummy candies, and halo halo were also available in the section.
I ended my meal with a hot tea and a good conversation with my family. We don’t always eat dinner together so I appreciate every time we do.
That’s it for my entry this week. Have a happy weekend, friends! Sending some love and light!
