Greetings, my dear friends from Foodies Bee Hive, today I want to share with you the preparation of this typical Venezuelan sweet that we all like. It is a very simple, delicious recipe, in addition to being very healthy.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 or 3 large coconuts.
- 4 cups of rice.
- 400 grs. of papelón.
- 1 cup of sugar.
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
- 1 teaspoon of small anise.
- 1 tablespoon of grated ginger.
- 1 teaspoon salt.
- 10 cups of water for the preparation of rice.
- 1 cup of water for the papelon syrup.
- 2 cups of warm water to extract the coconut milk.
Preparation:
First
Chop the coconut into squares. Blend it with the warm water and strain to extract the milk, set aside.
Second
Grate the Papelón and bring to a simmer with the Water until obtaining a syrup, reserve.
Third
In a large saucepan place the water for the Rice until it boils, add the 4 cups of Rice and cook over low heat until soft, then add the Papelón syrup, the Coconut Milk, Sugar, Salt, Anise, Cinnamon and Ginger.

If you like, you can add 1 cup of grated coconut. Stir over low heat until you reach the desired consistency.
