It has been raining here for a few days. When it rains, most of the families in this village start cooking khichuri. And Khichuri is a part of the thousand year old Bengali culture. We have seen our family or the people around us or the relatives who have seen us all, to arrange khichuri cooking when it rains. At the same time, the combination of beef enhances the taste.
Khichuri with rain and eating meat has become a tradition in Bengali culture. The feeling of eating hot khichuri and beef at home during leisure time when it is raining outside is really awesome. It seems that when it rains, the taste of khichuri and beef increases several times more.
As soon as it rained on the soil of Bengal, the image of hot khichuri floated in the minds of Bengalis. On such a rainy day, without khichuri, the minds of the Bengalis would not be filled at all. On a rainy day, there is no satisfaction in food without khichuri. So wherever Bengalis are on the street or outside the house, whenever they see rain, the image of khichuri automatically floats in the eyes of Bengalis. Those who stay at home cook khichuri at home and arrange to eat it with meat. But those who are busy in different workplaces occasionally eat khichuri and beef in different restaurants to satisfy that satisfaction.
From a very young age, I have shown that when it rains, my mother prepares khichuri and beef, and we all eat that food to our satisfaction. Currently is no exception. Whenever it rains, my mother thinks of cooking khichuri. Also when it rained my father told my mom to cook khichuri and also to cook beef. Because khichuri is one of my father's favorite food. Moreover, all the members of our family love to eat khichuri with beef and beef broth.
Moreover, when it rains, my uncle's family or the families around us organize khichuri cooking and often they distribute khichuri among the surrounding families after cooking. It is a part of rural culture. I saw my mother cooking khichuri and beef in our house to distribute some of it among our neighbors. This is a culture that is many days old. As a result, the bonds between the neighbors remain strong.
In addition to the rains, many families organize khichuri and beef throughout the year. Moreover, khichuri is cooked and served to all in various cultural, political, or religious occasions. As children, we used to organize khichuri with a few friends and serve it to small children. It was also a part of our village culture. I used to see that people used to make rice from house to house and cook khichuri with that rice and give it to everyone. In other words, khichuri is a part of the old Bengali culture.
