Its the season of Mangoes and Plums here in Nepal. Both are great for summer season in terms of consumption. Plum is both sour and sweet at the same time. We call it आलुबखडा (Alu Bakhada) in our tongue. This fruit is a great source of vitamins and other minerals like iron, fiber and so on. This fruit is popularly used in making jam and wine. One should be careful while eating this fruit. Though it fits in your mouth, you may accidentally sip its seed into the stomach. The above plums were given to us by one of my relative who had plum tree planted in her backyard. Beside the plum, she also has green apricot and green pears planted there. They can be consumed soon after getting fully ripe. I loved all those natural fruits.
