The big donut is an excellent dessert ideal for the Christmas holidays, its only flaw is that it requires a little preparation and a special round mold, but the result is excellent and delicious. We need some ingredients for the dough :
350 g of flour 00
300 g of soft butter
300 g of granulated sugar
5 eggs
16 g of baking powder for cakes
2 dl ofmilk
the grated zest of 1 lemon
1 pinch of salt

FOR THE CREAM • 1/2 dose of custard • 50 g of dark chocolate.
Separate in the egg the yolks from the whites. With an electric mixer, work the egg yolks in a bowl together with the sugar until the mixture is light in color and soft. Add the soft butter into small pieces cut it Littles , add thevthe lemon zest, and beat the mixture with an electric mixer until it is completely blended and creamy.
Add the flour, the yeast and the milk, mix everything together to create a homogeneous mixture. Beat the egg whites until stiff and add them to the dough.put the butter in the donut mold, sprinkle it with flour, and pour the dough inside.
Beat the mold a little bitv on the wsurface so that the dough is distributed as good as possible. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 40-50 minutes.
Remove, let cool before turning out. Meanwhile, prepare the custard and, when it is still hot, add the melted chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave or in pan
Mix with a spatula until you get a homogeneous mixture. Cover with cling film and let it cool.
Once you have cut the donut in half and with a spoon spread the coccolato cream and then put it back in the fridge for about an hour, finally serve the donut if you want with chopped almonds on top or a little icing sugar.
