Hi foodies, of course you'll always prepare whatever dish you want, whether it's for breakfast or dinner. Rice is definitely a staple food that must be cooked into something at my house, especially if there are no side dishes available. I'll definitely rack my brains to prepare a dish from it.
Fried rice is always a quick meal for me, as it is made from leftover rice from the night before. I usually cook extra rice in the evening and wait for it to cool down before breakfast so I can make fried rice.
Fried rice is very popular and can be prepared in many different ways. This time, I will show you how to make fried rice that I have never tried before. It is fried rice with apples and sausage. It looks very simple and easy to make, so I immediately wanted to try it when I saw this recipe.
Here are the step-by-step instructions. Of course, prepare rice as the main ingredient. My tip is to use rice that has cooled down from the night before. Of course, it is still edible.
Ingredients
½ apple
2 pieces of sausage
1 stalk of green onion
1 stalk of celery
2 tablespoons chili paste
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
¼ teaspoon salt
2 dried shiratake mushrooms
Mushroom broth to taste (optional)
Procedure
- Prepare all ingredients, cut the sausage, apple, mushrooms, and celery leaves according to your preference.
- Sauté one clove of red onion, then add the sausage and cook until golden brown. Then add the green apples that I have cut into small cubes.
- Then add the mushrooms and chili paste, cook until the spices are fragrant.
- Then add the white rice and mix with the spices until well blended. Don't forget to season with salt and mushroom broth and add chopped celery.
- Finally, add the oyster sauce scallions. Cook the fried rice over medium-low heat until the rice is fluffy or dry. I usually cook fried rice for a longer time over low heat to achieve a good texture and a more aromatic smoky flavor.
Results and Presentation
Serve the fried rice on a serving plate, add crackers and any side dishes you like. I usually use fish or fried eggs for protein. But you can skip this if you want, because there are already sausage pieces in the rice. The simplicity of this delicious fried rice with its distinctive aroma will make anyone love it.
The combination of spices and other ingredients like apples makes the flavor perfectly balanced. The savory, slightly salty, and tangy notes from the green apples, along with the heat from the chili paste, all come together to create an undeniably delicious dish.
For those of you with leftover rice from last night at home, don’t throw it away—try making this apple sausage fried rice instead. I’m sure you and your family will absolutely love it.
