Oh well...I can confirm that it's really very rare that you'll see someone from my family buying burgers from supermarkets or the butchery...
As I prepare my own at my restaurant, nearly everyone place their orders with me and I prepare for them accordingly!
Like today I had so many orders, both beef and chicken patties for some family members - So I used the occasion to take some photos and share with you my style of Beef and Chicken Patties!
Rest assured...they are so easy to make and very practicable if you need a quick sandwich at home...just take them out from the fridge, let defrost and cook in a pan for 6-7 Minutes, put in your burger buns and BAM...it's ready!
ps. We like our burgers to be spicy and tasty in Mauritius...we don't like plain ones!!!
Check It out!
Ingredients needed:
- Minced Beef and Minced Chicken
- Chopped Onions / Mint Leaves / Coriander Leaves
- Soaked Stale Bread - Squeeze after soaking by taking off maximum water
- 2 Eggs / Garlic Powder
- Cumin / Tandoori / BBQ / Cajun / Tikka - Spices
- Salt and Pepper
I used the same ingredients for the chicken patties...in fact you can use that same base for any meats or fish burgers you want to make!
Put all the spices, salt, pepper and chopped onions and herbs in a bowl with the minced beef/chicken...
Mix well with your hands...add the soaked bread and whole eggs too!
This is the chicken mixture after seasoning...all that is needed to do is to give them the burger forms...
But before giving the forms - I made them by hands - Let the mixture rest for an hour in fridge, this is a very important step!
Give them the burger form and put on a tray...
I started with the beef first and place a plastic sheet on top so that I can place more on top and they will not stuck to each other!
For the chicken ones, as the mixture was little very soft/wet, I added little breadcrumbs for them to hold better!
I made all of these earlier today...and I already sold all of them! My clients took it raw and will cook them at home whenever they will need!
And do you make your own burger patties friends!?
As mentioned above, home made patties are way better of the ones you find in supermarkets/butcheries etc...
Most of the time, the ones we get outside are just plain ones...without any nice seasonings!
I hope you've liked the way I do mine and will give it a try soon!
Thanks so much for reading and supporting my blog!
Best Regards!
Wish you well!
