Whenever we have some excess bread at home...pain perdue recipe always pops in my head!
So yesterday, my wife told me that we had some stale bread and see if I could make something out of it for tea time!
We all love pain perdue!!!
I usually make pain perdue dusted with cinnamon sugar...but this time, me and my daughter we decided to serve them with Nutella and Banana!
Me and my daughter Rheem prepared the tea table!
Let me briefly show you how to make them...
Really very easy recipe and I am sure you will love it too!
- Left over bread or stale bread
- Raw Sugar
- Milk Powder
- Vanilla Essence
- Eggs
- Butter to cook
Make a batter out of all the above ingredients by first mixing the eggs with sugar.
Whisk well, then add in the vanilla essence and milk powder - Mix and add little water if batter is too thick. It must be like a crepe batter consistency!
The little chef - My daughter Rheem!
Oh how she loves being with me in the kitchen!
While I was busy cutting the slices of bread for our recipe, she was washing the dishes in the meantime!
Bread Slices and Batter ready...
Cook with butter...
Add butter to a pan and dip the bread slices in the batter and put on the pan to cook...
Let the first side get a nice golden brown color, then turn over for the second side!
Once cooked, transfer to a plate and let it become a bit warm...spread Nutella and add slices of bananas!!!
And here you are...
It took us around 15 minutes to prepare and cook our pain perdue...and as you saw it is so easy to make
You can enjoy them plain or with many other toppings like crème fraiche, honey, melted butter, cheese etc...
Below is Rheem ready for her first Pain Perdue with Nutella and Banana!!!
She loved it soooo much!!!
Next time you have some left over bread...do try this recipe out! I am sure you'll love it, specially the kids!

Wish you all a wonderful day/evening ahead!
