It was just a few weeks back when the ASEAN Hive Community curation account hosted a contest with the theme of Stir-Fry. I'm supposed to join the challenge but I forgot about it until the last night when I was ordering for my dinner.
Going back to last night's event, I went to Suntec City to visit the Fountain of Wealth and to have a stroll around the mall. I was supposed to to go the Singapore River to look for the tourist boats that I will use to participate in the current contest but it was raining so I'm postponing it. I'm not prepared to go home yet so I decided to simply stay at Suntec City and stroll. It was a tiring stroll because I got lost somewhere within the commercial complex. I still managed to find my way to the Fountain of Wealth and experience the amazing feat of this manmade waterfall.
The stroll got me hungry so I decided to get my dinner in one of the food courts of the mall, the nearest to the fountain is the Food Republic. I took the proximity of it as a sign so I checked which among the stalls were still open. Among the choices that I checked, I decided to order from the handmade noodles stall.
I had the dry version of Beef Noodles. The dry version is the same as the stir-fried version. The knife-shaven noodles is one of my favorite so I went for it. It has a good texture and the preparation of it is also entertaining to watch.
The chef is a show-off π but in the best way. When I try to take a photo of how he's doing the knife shaving of the noodles, he faces towards me so I can take a better photo of his skillful noodle making.
Let me walk you through the process...
In a few minutes, the stir-fried noodle dish is done!
If I'm to describe the texture of noodles, it feels like a boiled strips of squid. It's firm but it also has a jelly-like hint to it. It's fun to eat and I specially like the chewing part.
The beef was slightly tough but it's still okay because I'm very satisfied with the quality and serving size of the handmade noodles.
